FSX Rwandair CRJ200

This add-on provides a specially crafted RwandAir livery for the CRJ200, intended for flight simulation enthusiasts who appreciate realistic regional jet operations. This repaint reflects the airline’s distinctive color scheme and adds a unique visual touch to the reliable CRJ200 platform.

Aircraft and Livery Details

The Bombardier CRJ200 (short description: [Regional Jet] a short-haul aircraft widely employed by regional carriers) is known for efficient performance across shorter routes. RwandAir, the national airline of Rwanda, deploys similar jetliners for connections to neighboring destinations. This texture set replicates RwandAir’s branding elements and correct color placement on the CRJ200 airframe.

Developed and repainted by Sebastian Szucs, these textures are compatible with the freeware Project Open Sky CRJ-200 model. Please note that this package only includes the external repaint files and does not contain the base model.

Installation Steps

1. Extract the included texture.XXX folder into the Project Open Sky CRJ-200 directory.
2. Copy the [fltsim.X] section from this repaint’s Aircraft.cfg snippet and paste it into your existing Aircraft.cfg file.
3. Assign an appropriate sequence number (for instance, the next available integer) in place of “X” in “[fltsim.X]”.
4. Ensure that the model and sim entries are correctly pointing to the matching model folder and .air file within your CRJ-200 directory.
5. After verifying these entries, you can launch your flight sim and select the new RwandAir livery.

Additional Notes

This repaint uses 32-bit textures without Mip-Maps, delivering crisp visuals in FSX. The original Project Open Sky paint kit dates back to an earlier generation of flight simulation software (notably FS2002), which may limit certain graphical enhancements. Nonetheless, the texture set aims to uphold acceptable clarity and detail.

The base CRJ-200 model by Project Open Sky is required for this repaint to function correctly. That model can usually be found in the freeware library on this platform. Once the necessary files are in place, this package should integrate smoothly and replicate the regional air travel experience seen in real RwandAir operations.
