This repaint offers a detailed depiction of RusLine’s Bombardier CRJ200. Created by Sebastian Szucs, it is aimed at sim enthusiasts seeking an additional layer of realism for their regional jet sorties. The package includes high-resolution textures specifically tailored for the Project Open Sky CRJ-200 freeware model, which can be found in the Fly Away Simulation library. Below, you will find the essential details to get it running smoothly in FSX.
Overview
This adaptation showcases RusLine’s livery on the CRJ200 series, which is a twin-engined regional jet designed primarily for short-to-medium routes. RusLine, a carrier operating within Russia and neighboring regions, is recognizable for its streamlined red and white paint scheme that suits the aircraft’s compact profile well. The paint files are in 32-bit format, ensuring vibrant colors, and they are deliberately left without Mip-Maps for maximum clarity at varying camera distances. Despite the legacy nature of the paintkit (originally derived from an older simulator platform), extra effort has been made to refine the visual fidelity.
Installation Steps
- Extract the texture.XXX folder into your existing Project Open Sky CRJ-200 directory.
- Within the download package, locate the Aircraft.cfg entry and copy its contents into your own Aircraft.cfg file in the same aircraft folder.
- Adjust the “[fltsim.X]” index so it follows sequential order (replace the “X” with the next available numeral).
- Confirm that the “model=” and “sim=” lines match the model subfolder and the .air file name used by your configuration.
- Load your simulator and select this newly added repaint; it should appear under RusLine in the aircraft selection menu.
Technical Notes
- Texture Format: Saved in 32-bit for enhanced clarity.
- Mip-Map Usage: Not included to maintain crispness at various zoom levels.
- CRJ200 Characteristics: The short fuselage and twin-turbofan layout make it ideal for regional connections.
- Paintkit Limitations: The original kit dates back to FS2002, so certain texture elements might exhibit slight imperfections.
Even so, those imperfections have been minimized to present a convincing representation of RusLine’s aircraft. It should still offer a visually satisfying experience when capturing screenshots or performing flights in diverse lighting conditions.
Author/Developer
This repaint is brought to you by Sebastian Szucs, who selected the Project Open Sky model as a reliable foundation for the CRJ200 platform. His attention to detail gives flight sim users an opportunity to replicate RusLine operations within the simulator. Please remember that the base aircraft is freeware and must be obtained separately, as this release only includes the livery files.
