This custom repaint showcases the English Electric Canberra designated WT667 for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, meticulously crafted by Henry William using AlphaSim’s Canberra model. It reflects a representative appearance of this historic British jet bomber while maintaining high-fidelity textures tailored to virtual aviation enthusiasts.
Background on the Real Airframe
The English Electric Canberra entered Royal Air Force service in the early 1950s, filling a versatile role in high-altitude reconnaissance, nuclear strike, and conventional bombing. Designed with a sleek aerodynamic profile, the Canberra achieved remarkable speed and altitude records during its service life. It remained operative for many years, thanks in part to its advanced design and ongoing upgrades. This WT667 repaint highlights the jet’s timeless shape and serves as a fitting homage to an iconic aircraft.

Installation Process and Configuration
Follow these concise steps to integrate the WT667 repaint into your simulator:
- Extract the downloaded repaint folder to any preferred directory on your system.
- Within the extracted content, locate the folder labeled texture.rafb and copy it.
- Paste the texture.rafb folder into your AlphaSim Canberra directory, usually:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\ALPHA EE Canberra
- Open the aircraft.cfg file (located in the same directory as the model) using a text editor. Append the following snippet after the preceding [fltsim.X] entry, making sure to replace “XX” with the correct consecutive number:
[fltsim.xx]

description=© ALPHA Simulations 2005\n\nThe English Electric Canberra was first flown in 1950, and yet there were still versions of this fine aircraft in service at the outset of the 21st century. An excellent design overall, the type was also adopted and manufactured in the United States as the Martin B-57. A large number of variants were produced, including high-altitude reconnaissance, attack, nuclear strike, night interdiction, and trainers. The type was initially intended to fly very high and fast and was thus equipped with no defensive armament. Several speed and altitude records were garnered by the Canberra in the years immediately following its introduction into service. In 1957, a rocket-boosted Canberra flew to over 70,000 feet, a staggering altitude at the time.

After saving your changes, the WT667 variant should be accessible from within your aircraft menu in Microsoft Flight Simulator X.
Sound Alias Guidance
In this repaint’s configuration, the sound references David Garwood’s Hawker Hunter (sound=alias=\Hunter FGA9\Sound). If you have not installed that aircraft, you can redirect the alias to any other suitable sound set within your simulator’s library. Simply adjust the path to a folder that exists in your installation.
Credits and Final Note
Henry William authored this repaint to pay tribute to the real-world WT667, while AlphaSim developed the base EA Canberra aircraft model. Together, they have brought the spirit of this remarkable jet into the virtual skies. Once installed, flight simulation enthusiasts can appreciate the aircraft’s signature silhouette and experience its storied history within the digital realm.
