Editorial
I decided to pick up this version of the awesome Bell 205a-1 to give myself something new and fun to mess around with in FS2002 and FS2004. When I first downloaded it I was quite impressed by the level of detail on show given that it’s for an ancient simulator.
However, the new designs and improvements ensure that it carries the right look and feel for anyone like me who wants to make a quick trip down memory lane and experience something new and engaging.
The interior of the helicopter is just as impressive, by the way. It looks as close to reality as this dated piece of kit allows, giving you a fresh and interesting cockpit design that has the correct panels etc.
This does a big favor for anyone who enjoys flying aircraft like this but does not enjoy using generic interiors. By more or less removing that problem from the equation, this mod makes it easy for fans to use the Bell properly once again.
However, that’s not all that has been included – it’s also a fully animated and upgraded helicopter. It comes with a fresh range of additions and animations to the program and also gives you plenty of new sounds that are taken from the real thing. This improves the overall way that it flies as you should feel more at home in the cockpit here than ever before.
Not only does the cockpit give you plenty of choice in terms of what features you like to use and require, you’ll also find that this brilliant take on the old Bell helicopters manages to give you a fresher understanding.
One of the most impressive things about this, though, was the authenticity. For such an old piece of hardware it done an absolutely brilliant job on giving me a really genuine take on the 205a-1. If you want more realism from dated simulators like FS2002/4, then you should try this out.
