FSX / P3D scenery

FSX EGKR Redhill Scenery

EGKR Redhill brings Surrey’s busy grass airfield to life with five turf runways, multiple helipads, and improved on-field detail a short hop from London Gatwick. Built with existing assets for a lightweight footprint, it enhances local VFR and helicopter operations in FSX while keeping performance smooth.

EGKR Redhill. A complex grass airfield south of London, in Surrey, UK. Five runways and as many helipads. By Dominique M. L. Donzelot.

EGKR Redhill Scenery.

EGKR Redhill Scenery.

This nice place is a rather large complex of 5 runways of grass and 5 or more helicopters landing pads.

Situated a handfull of miles, north of Gatwick, in the south of UK, in Surrey.

The original scenery in FSX is very, very modest so it was logical to try something closer to the reality. Here is my modest contribution to it.

Thanks to the authors of FSX planner, EZ-Landclass and SceneryShortcut (Abacus) for those superbes development tools.

Using existing objects of FSX, this scenery is small in size and has very little impact on the FPS.

There is nothing there which could possibly damage your computer or your FS, so I am not taking any responsibility in any possible incident on your machines.

Standard kind of installation:

- unzip the files and folders under your add-on sceney
- declare the scenery

That's it.

Unfortunatly, this scenery is not compatible with previous versions of FS.

Enjoy flying in that superb area !

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
  3. Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

Redhill is the nearest airport to me, so I was really happy to find this addon. It works well and greatly improves the airfield, although the only thing I would say is it includes some model American military helicopters which aren't there in real life... at least I don't think they are! But that's ok!
