FSX Punta Gorda Airport Scenery

Punta Gorda Airport (PND) in Belize brings a remote coastal airstrip to life in FSX, featuring an unpaved runway, simple hut-style terminals, and a layout based on limited published references. Expect authentic short-field character with landing-over-obstacle approaches, plus a custom MZ62 designator for easy identification in the simulator.

Punta Gorda Airport Scenery.

This airport, serviced by all Belize airlines, is also one of the more mysterious as far as data is concerned. Google Earth has no high resolution image and the information I have is 15 years old. At that time it had a unpaved strip and two huts serving as terminals.

Be prepared for "landing over an obstacle" procedures.

MZ62 is a designator I have given this airstrip, it has no official ICAO designator but an IATA designator (PND).

Installation:

Simply unzip the *.bgl files into the Addon Scenery/scenery folder.

Uninstallation:

Remove the files from the Addon Scenery/scenery folder.

Acknowledgments:

These files have been partially generated by SbuilderX and Airport Design Editor and the coordinates are generated from Google Earth.

Have fun.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
  3. Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
