Delve into a refreshed representation of Hana Airport (PHHN) in Hana, Hawaii, that aligns runway dimensions, taxiway placements, and additional default-scenery objects with accurate data. Created by Phillip Coyle, this freeware add-on offers an enhanced rendition of a quaint yet significant airfield on Maui’s eastern coast. Pilots who frequent the region in Microsoft Flight Simulator X should find upgraded realism, refined placements of structures, and an overall smooth integration into their virtual ecosystem.

Technical Refinements for Realistic Departures and Arrivals

Alongside correct runway lengths and taxiway alignments derived from satellite-based references, this scenery introduces objects from the default libraries to complement the airport’s remote character. The approach and layout are curated through in-depth scrutiny of archival imagery, ensuring precision is maintained. To experience the full extent of this scenery’s additions, set your flight simulator’s scenery complexity at NORMAL or higher.

Compiled with Attention to Detail

The updated files were compiled using Airport Design Editor, a tool revered for generating accurate modifications to default simulation airports. As a result, taxiway routing has been adjusted to match real-world paths, and the overall airport environment offers more faithful immersion when taxiing or moving to runway thresholds.

Placing the Files into Your Simulator Environment

  1. Locate both PHHN_ADE.BGL and PHHN_ADE_CVX.BGL. Copy these into the “Addon Scenery/Scenery” subfolder within your main Microsoft Flight Simulator X directory.
  2. Restart the simulator or load it up, and the newly placed modifications should be visible immediately.

Removing These Refinements if Required

  1. Simply remove the two .BGL files from the same folder—“Addon Scenery/Scenery.”
  2. Reopen the simulator, and your default scenery returns without complication.

Noteworthy Reminders and Use Policy

This freeware package is provided as-is, so operate it under your own discretion. While every effort has been made to ensure stability, Phillip Coyle takes no responsibility for any system complications. No dedicated support is offered for this distribution, but flight sim enthusiasts are encouraged to share their experiences with one another for troubleshooting or exploration.
