FSX CFB Halifax Shearwater Scenery

CFB Halifax Shearwater brings a corrected Canadian Forces base to life in Nova Scotia, Canada, replacing the stock layout with a more accurate airfield and surroundings for smoother VFR navigation and military-style operations in FSX. The scenery refreshes the airport environment to better match the real-world location while keeping performance-friendly simplicity.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
  3. Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

I grew up in Halifax and visited Shearwater for over 20 years every Natal Day. The Duty Boats would pick up all the visitors on the Halifax side at a pier located in the Naval Dockyard and ferry them across the harbor for free to Shearwater for the Aircraft Displays and Airshow. When it was all over the Duty Boats gave all who wanted a lift back to Halifax another free ride. I'll KNOW Shearwater when I see it. OKAY.....Time to look.....I'll get back at yah. Thanks for this by the way.
