FSX Old Warden Update Scenery

Old Warden Airfield (EGTZ) scenery update refreshes the UK field with corrected airport data, essential buildings, and optional extras such as landclass, furniture, hedgerows, static vintage aircraft, and vehicles, with BGL choices to balance performance. Built for Microsoft Flight Simulator X and requires ALFS_OLD_WARDEN_V2.ZIP.

THE REMOVAL OF FILE APX47130.BGL WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA AS IT CONTAINS DATA FOR OTHER AIRFIELDS. (Sorry about that)
But replacing it made Old Warden disappear from the Scenery list and only show Hatfield again so I have had to revert to what I did with version 1, I have given Old Warden an ICAO code of EGTZ.

Ignore the original instruction 2.

1. Replace or re-activate file APX47130 in:Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\0501\scenery. I include the file incase you destroyed it.
2. Replace 'OldWarden_EGTH' file in Addon Scery folder with this 'OldWarden_EGTZ'
3. Delete files to remove Old Warden.

Effect on frame rates:

Unless you have a powerful PC there may be some drop in frame rates so I have made a range of BGL files to give you some choice.
Remove /disable any or all except EGTZ_extra.
Open the OldWarden_EGTH/scenery folder to find the 'extra' .bgl files.

The following files produce these objects:
EGTZ_extra 8Kb This is a must for all the main buildings.

The following files can be individually removed to a storage folder, or disabled by changing '.BGL' into '.BGL.bak' .

EGTZ_extra_landclass 1Kb Ground surface nearest to buildings. Remove if you get flicker or prefer FSX aprons.
EGTZ_extra_furniture 3Kb Cafe furniture, picnic tables, rubbish bins and some cones.
EGTZ_extra_hedgerow 2Kb Long hedgerow N & NE of airfield.
EGTZ_extra_aircraft 1Kb Static aircraft (Avro504, Dh85,Dh87 & AC trike).
EGTZ_extra_vehicles 1Kb About two-thirds of vehicles and the snacks caravan.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
