Saglek Airport (CYSV) scenery recreates a remote Newfoundland coastal airfield with detailed terrain, shoreline shaping, and period-accurate Defense radar site structures perched on the mountain, capturing the windswept, fog-prone setting. Built for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it includes runway 17/35 with ILS, VOR/DME, and local frequency data for realistic approaches.

Scenery Saglek Airport (CYSV), Newfoundland, Canada. Today managed by the ministry for the Defense of Canada, this site for a long time sheltered the greatest radar tracking station on the east coast. This station had been abandoned beginning in 1970 before being demolished in 1980. By Regis Dassylva.

History year 2000: Today managed by the ministry for the Defense of Canada, this site a long time sheltered the greatest exploited radar tracking station by the army of the air of the United States on the east coast of the continent. This station had been abandoned with beginning of the year 1970 before being demolished in the years 1980. The season without freezing being one duration of hardly 45 days, the period of navigation is thus limited to the month going from July to November, with a monthly average of more than 20 days of fog. Moreover, localization on the coast, topography site and absence of the trees involve intense winds, at great frequency, in addition. The realization is the most precise image of what we found on the Web. Originators: Gerald Allaire and Régis Dassylva carried out the Airport, all the buildings as well as the station of radar located at is on the Mountain. M.Gilles Gauthier was occupied to give again the shape of the mountains, the lakes, the islands and the shore on a large surface of this territory. M.Jean-Pierre Fillion conceived the DHC-6, Beautiful the 212 and the ship of the Coastal Guard. These people are members of CDQ (Concepteurs Virtuels du Québec).

1* You decompress the CYSV_REEL.zip file.

2* You place the scenery in your Flight Simulator X on the site of your scenery (Addon Scenery, Scenery or others let us your management).

3* You activate your scenery in your Flight Simulator X.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
