FSX Red Cross Cessna 208B Grand Caravan

Red Cross livery textures give the default Cessna 208B Grand Caravan a clean humanitarian look for convincing relief and supply missions in hard-to-reach strips. Built for FSX, the repaint uses standard simulator files and requires the stock C208B, adding authentic markings and a crisp finish while keeping the familiar virtual cockpit intact.

This is a repaint of the default Cessna Grand Caravan included with Flight Simulator X. This repaint uses all standard files included with FSX - no other files are necessary. It is a relatively simple but useful repaint in 'Red Cross' livery. Certainly good for those emergency supply deliveries in hard to get to locations.

Installation:

Simply unzip the c208rc.zip folder and it will create a folder named texture.rc. copy or move the texture.rc folder to fsx/simobjects/airplanes/c208b. Then open the aircraft.cfg file. Copy the following paragraph (after last fltsim entry) into the aircraft.cfg file and replace the 'X' in [fltsim.X] with the next sequential number:

description="Wherever you want to go today, the Cessna Caravan can get you there. First introduced by Cessna in 1985, the Caravan was designed to land nearly anywhere, on land or water. Undoubtedly, it has lived up to its creators' intentions. Whether supplies need to be brought to a flooded village in the mountains of Peru, an injured person needs to be flown out from a remote lake in Alaska, or an archeologist wants access to a tiny site in the African desert, the Caravan has what's needed to do the job."

Save aircraft.cfg file and restart flight simulator. The new repaint should now be available.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.
  3. Verify in FSX

Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
