This is a representation of the Fokker Dr1 triplane he flew that day, the last in the triology of triplanes, and thus, was born a legend. Panel by Frank Elton.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme

A collectable aircraft sums it up. After getting it into the library (the installation readme is very vague) by making a folder to put the relevant files in, I was able to fly it briefly . A lackluster rendition of a very famous aircraft featuring no compass and a (Non-viewable) GPS, which didn't exist when this aircraft flew. I was fortunate I never strayed to far away from the airfield so I maintained visual contact. Lose that and I would never have found my way back. I should have read the comments before I downloaded it.

    You can always change out the panels and instruments anytime you like, you just have to pick a panel you're comfortable with., I have one in particular with weather and live ai radar so I use that one a lot. some of the best aircraft have flat pic-only panels like the sr71 and the X15. Even the SR71, they've been in sim for over twenty years and no one ever came up with a freeware working version. When it comes to these planes, remember, flying thousands of feet above terra firma, in a flying craft with the power of a mower, made of wood and canvas and some dope if they could locate it. Then to learn the hard way, that you can fire bullets thru a prop blade and expect to continue flying, and by the time they figured the crankshaft arm to the mechanism they already lost quite a few pilots. Tough piloting, the hell of a way to learn.

    The plane itself is good, and the spinning parts in the engine are a nice touch. However, it does not have any instruments. I would give it a 6/10. If anyone knows of a good panel to add, please let me know.

    thanks a lot for Fixing the Panel on the fokker dr1 now i can´t steer any plane anymore i just deleted the dr1 and came back to flying ...

    This is a very nice plane to fly. You need to make a folder by right clicking the mouse on a blank space on the window with all the files. Put the files into the new folder and name it. Most of the planes here have a file already made for you, but with this one you must put the files into another new folder.

    Really fun download, piece of cake install and fun to fly. Great to fly remote control in tower view. Have to admit guns would be awesome or at least a chick on the wings. Great work thanks

    It is a cool plane,i only gave it a 9 becus you have to press F4 to get the engin on,it would be cool if had guns that fired,but it is COOOOOOOLLLL!!!!!
