Aircraft Background

The Boeing 777-200 is a long-range, wide-body twin-engine airliner widely used in both cargo and passenger operations. Evergreen International Airlines, once noted for global cargo services, employed large military and commercial aircraft throughout its history. Repaints of the Boeing 777-200 in Evergreen’s livery pay tribute to that legacy, offering a unique transport environment in the simulator.

Key Modifications

Melvin Rafi’s original MELJET design stood out in older simulators, yet it required configuration refinements to align with newer platforms. Through updated air files and CFG tweaks, advanced handling is now available. Additionally, A2A 3D Lights and Redux enhancements introduce improved lighting effects.

Animations and Access Points

The aircraft includes opening engine cowlings for inspection. Activate them with Shift + E to reveal detailed engine components. When on the ground at a compatible gate, press Ctrl + J to see the jetway connect or disconnect.

A2A 3D Lights and Redux Integration

To capitalize on updated lighting, the A2A 3D Lights & Redux package is recommended. These revised files enhance wing and ground reflections for a more realistic ambiance. If you copy the new Shockwave light effects into your existing simulator’s Effects folder, expect brighter illumination on engines and fuselage.

Installation and Compatibility

1. Extract the "Aircraft" folder to the FSX "Simobjects/Airplane" directory.
2. Load FSX and look for "MELJET" under the aircraft selection menu. Choose the Evergreen International 777-200.
3. For 3D light functionality, install the A2A 3D Lights & Redux package (not included in the base download). Replace any existing shockwave light files if prompted.

These enhancements have been tested on Microsoft FSX under Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows XP. The result is a reliable aircraft that retains its original aesthetics while introducing contemporary lighting effects and more balanced flight performance.
