The ARX6 is a single-place Formula One pylon racing aircraft and is built to the specs of the International Formula 1 Air Racing association.

Like all Formula One race planes, it is built around the Continental O-200. This is the same 100 hp engine that barely powers a Cessna 150 to 100 kts but on the small extremely lightweight and aerodynamic airframes of formula one racers the top aircraft can push 300 mph. With very few instruments, and less than average ground handling, Formula One aircraft are very clean "no frills" machines that serve only one purpose - flying low, flying fast, and turning left. This all-new package created specifically for FSX includes 14 different schemes, custom sounds and panel. Aircraft and panel by Jason L. Terry. Sounds by Joseph Thompson. Additional schemes by Joshua B. Nyhus, Brady Duros and Mike Vivaldi.

To install, run the installer exe and install the scenery to your MAIN FSX FOLDER, do not route the installation to your SimObjects or Airplanes folder, this will be done automatically by the installer.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

Would have loved to have tried this addon but I think that the installer program you used is broken. Tried installing it directly to both my FSX main folder as instructed and Sim Objects/Airplanes folder and neither worked. Why didn't you just create this addon as a folder we simply can put directly into our SimObjects/Airplanes directory like how everybody else does it? Using an installer isn't necessary here on Fly Away Simulation and probably adds more needless work on the developer's behalf especially when it is a broken installer tool.

Excellent aircraft, as well as the ONLY Formula 1 Air Racer I've seen for FSX for the Reno Air Races. Very fun to race in. However I do have to say that this is really made for Air racing only, as your fuel tanks will only survive about 30 minutes. So you can try, but this isn't really a cross country machine. My fastest speed was 267MPH going around the Reno Pylon track. Good job to the Aeroworks team!
