This exclusive repaint package offers a meticulously crafted texture set for the Vistaliners Boeing 727-200 series, replicating Alitalia’s storied tri-engine jet “Citta di Verona” (registration I-DIRJ, aircraft number 45783/128). Developed by Frank Idone, it is specifically tailored for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 enthusiasts who appreciate authentic liveries and classic jet travel.

Historic Italian Scheme With A Tri-Jet Twist

Alitalia’s Boeing 727 fleet brought a modern look to European routes, featuring the iconic tri-jet design that provided excellent operational flexibility. This texture accurately captures the Italian carrier’s signature color bands along the fuselage, plus subtle weathering effects for a truly immersive feel in the sim. Each rivet, window frame, and air intake has been reproduced with careful precision to honor the aircraft’s legacy in both Italian aviation and the global commercial jet market.

Focused Details On The 727-243 Variant

The Boeing 727 was renowned for its distinctive T-tail and triple-engine arrangement, enabling robust performance from short runways. With this repaint, the forward fuselage logos and tail markings depicting Alitalia’s vintage branding have been fine-tuned to highlight the jet’s unique identity. More than 1,800 Boeing 727 aircraft were built from the early 1960s through 1984, underscoring its significance in airline history.
