FSX Fairchild Metroliner III Engine Smoke Effect

Fairchild Metroliner III engine smoke effects add convincing exhaust trails that enhance in-flight atmosphere and visual realism, triggered on demand for clean screenshots or dramatic departures in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Requires Jon Murchison’s freeware Metroliner III package, and includes a dedicated effect file plus preconfigured SmokeSystem entries for accurate placement.

Installation:

Copy and paste the enclosed "fx_smoke_f6.fx" file into your FSX "Effects" folder. (It's probably there already, so look first).
Copy and paste all of the [SMOKESYSTEM] info. below into your Metroliner III "aircraft.cfg" file (then click 'file', then click 'save', of course). I pasted mine between the [electrical] section and the [exits] section with good results.
Press your "I" key while flying your Metroliner III in FSX and enjoy the smoke!

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
