FSX KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Boeing 737-800 PH-BXM

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines’ refreshed Boeing 737-800 livery for PH-BXM “Kluut” brings crisp 32-bit textures and realistic shine to the Tenkuu Developers Studio model, matching the carrier’s modern fleet markings with careful detail. Designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it requires the TDS 737-800 base pack and supports animated doors, wing flex, and tuned flight dynamics.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

This highly detailed repaint showcases KLM Royal Dutch Airlines’ recently introduced color scheme for the Boeing 737-800 (registration: PH-BXM, aptly nicknamed “Kluut”). It was skillfully crafted by Elmar Westra and is intended for freeware use within Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The real-world carrier, KLM, operates its short- to medium-haul routes with multiple variants of the 737 family, and its fleet was scheduled to be fully repainted in this fresh design by the end of 2017. This add-on only includes texture files; to activate it in your simulator, you will need the separate Tenkuu Developers Studio B737-800 base pack.

KLM’s New Look and Aircraft Registration

KLM is known for its iconic branding, and this updated livery reflects the airline’s modern approach while paying homage to its heritage as the oldest airline operating under its original name. The real Boeing 737-800 with the tail number PH-BXM, sometimes referred to by its unique moniker “Kluut,” carries passengers on multiple European routes. In the simulator, this repaint replicates distinctive markings with precise attention to detail.

Visual Highlights and Technical Characteristics

Enhanced Exterior Textures

The package offers 32-bit textures that combine clarity with minimal performance impact. You will notice the dynamic shine along the fuselage, which simulates various lighting conditions realistically. Additionally, the doors—including the passenger and cargo entries—are fully animated to reflect real-world operations.

Wing Flex and Suspension Dynamics

This repaint makes use of the underlying Tenkuu Developers Studio (TDS) features, adding flexing wings that respond to turbulence. The aircraft's gear steering and suspension operate independently for each wheel assembly, giving a true-to-life effect during takeoffs, landings, and taxi sequences.

Accurate Handling

Flight dynamics are carefully tuned to recreate the operational performance of a Boeing 737-800. Pilots will experience balanced control inputs, subtle trim animation, and overall maneuverability that matches the short- to medium-range scope of the real twin-engine airliner.

Important Requirements

This is exclusively a repaint package and does not come with the base model. For successful installation, you will need the Tenkuu Developers Studio B737-800 base pack (TDS_B737-800_BASE_PACKAGE.ZIP). Ensure you have it properly set up in your simulator environment before adding these textures. Painted by Elmar Westra and distributed as freeware.

Requires dependencies

This add-on may require the following files to function properly. If this is a repaint, the dependency below is likely the base aircraft package.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.
  3. Verify in FSX

Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
