This freeware repaint, crafted for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, introduces a detailed Air Europa Express BAe ATP wear with the registration EC-GSG. It is a textures-only package and requires the original Blu-Sky Mine Productions (BSMP) BAe ATP base model (available in the Fly Away Simulation library). The repaint is the work of developer Enrique Medal, who has meticulously recreated the real-world aircraft’s markings and color schemes.

Distinctive Exterior and Operational Context

The BAe ATP (British Aerospace Advanced Turbo-Prop) evolved from the Hawker Siddeley HS 748. This twin-engined turboprop was originally marketed to address growing concerns about airplane noise and soaring fuel costs. By refining aerodynamic design elements and enhancing the powerplants, British Aerospace targeted regional routes that needed quieter cabin environments and cost-effective operations. Although the BAe ATP production run ended with around 64 units, it still earned a loyal following when deployed by various carriers seeking robust performance.

Aircraft Identification and Livery Specifics

In this repaint, you will discover the EC-GSG registration—an authentic reference to Air Europa Express, a Spanish regional operator. Air Europa Express has historically served domestic and short-to-medium international routes, connecting travelers to key destinations within Europe. This new texture set captures the airline’s branding, complete with vivid tail graphics and fuselage lettering. All visual elements reflect the distinctive style of Air Europa Express during the era when the BAe ATP formed a core part of their fleet.

Integration Details

Compatibility
This repaint is intended for Microsoft Flight Simulator X utilizing the BAe ATP model from Blu-Sky Mine Productions (BSMP).
Base Model Requirement
The required freeware BAe ATP package is not included. You can locate the original aircraft in the Fly Away Simulation mod repository.

Important: Once you have the BSMP BAe ATP installed, simply add the repaint’s texture folder and corresponding aircraft configuration entries to your aircraft.cfg file. An example entry is outlined below for convenience:

description=The BAe ATP was an airliner designed as an evolution of the Hawker Siddeley HS 748. The fuel crisis and concerns over noise led British Aerospace to develop a short-haul, quieter turboprop. Although overshadowed by other models, only 64 were ever built. British Airways plc is the UK’s flag carrier with hubs at Heathrow and Gatwick, operating under a Type A Operating License, allowing passenger and cargo operations on aircraft of 20 or more seats. Why This Livery Stands Out

  • Authentic Emblem: Showcases distinctive Air Europa Express tail and fuselage markings.
  • Accurate Colors: Reflects the real-world palette of Air Europa Express’ short-haul network era.
  • Smooth Integration: Compatible with the well-regarded BSMP BAe ATP model.

This repaint delivers an immersive portrayal of a historic aircraft operated by a Spanish carrier known for its inter-European connectivity. The textures present weathering and shading details faithful to the real BAe ATP, while the flight model itself remains courtesy of BSMP’s freeware release. Enthusiasts who appreciate regional turboprops will find this a welcome addition to their virtual hangar, especially when recreating the quick hop routes that these aircraft frequently served.
