Platinum Airways

Platinum AirwaysPlatinum Airways offers its VP's an environment that is rich in content and low on rules. We have numerous civilian aircraft in our own livery for FS9 and FSX. Our pilots are completely free to compose their own flights between two ICAO airports and/or they can operate out of five hubs (KEWR and KDFW in the US, CYVR in Canada, YPPH in Australia and EBBR in Europe). Thus, Platinum Airways prides itself that it has completely liberated the virtual aviation industry by implementing a real Open Skies policy.

Our pilots may fly any mission of their choice with the aircraft of their choice at the time of their choice. We offer a wide range of aircraft in Platinum Airways livery (freeware and pay-ware) that will enable our pilots to fly any mission ranging from hops around the corner to real long distance flights.

Pilots are allowed to fly any other aircraft and to request a Platinum Airways livery for it. We are a non-VATSIM airline, although our pilots may fly online if they prefer so. Pilot reports and other admin are kept to a minimum, as management, too, would like to fly as often as possible.

Platinum Airways does not require its members to join a flight roster. New members (minimum age: 18) are expected to complete their first mission within two weeks. Thereafter, members are expected to complete one mission per month. Platinum Airways organises a Destination of the Week, which may either be actuality driven, or part of a special series. The latter may include difficult approaches in mountainous terrain or fjords or the annual carnival season. DOTW flights are rewarded with a bonus.

Members have access to three active forums: the pilot's lounge (very much an anything goes venue), the simulator (for technical questions) and the paintshop (for requests and other related issues). Accumulated proven hours from other airlines are fully honoured and added to each pilot's records after a first PIREP has been processed. Membership is free and it is mandatory with Platinum Airways to have fun.
