Vans RV-8 pilots get a more convincing canopy with enhanced grime, fine scratches, and a subtle blue tint that also complements the gauges, adding depth to exterior views and the virtual cockpit. Designed for the Vertigo Studios payware RV-8 and RV-8A in Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it refreshes the glass look without changing the aircraft’s character.

A small yellow single-engine aircraft with a bubble canopy is shown on a runway and in flight above mountainous terrain.

This is alternative glass effect for canopy of payware model of Vans RV8 from Vertigo Studios. More dirty and scratches and small new blue effect (gauges use same effect). You can try it for each model (8 or 8A). By Rafal Stankiewicz, Yoyosims.

Just put this glass_t.dds file into Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\VS_RV8 and for Texture folder (if you want to have this effect in all your textures) or for each Textures of model.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D Repaint for Payware Model

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Add livery to base aircraft folder

Place the texture folder (typically texture.{airline}) inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\{base-aircraft}\.
Update aircraft.cfg

Open the base aircraft.cfg in Notepad. Add a new [fltsim.X] section per the readme.
