X-Plane 11/10 AD3 Boston Bar Scenery
Fraser Valley A (AD3) brings Boston Bar’s “abandoned” emergency strip in British Columbia to life as a rugged field with simple markers beside the canyon, ideal for off-airport diversions. Built for X-Plane 11/10 with Ortho4XP mesh and Bing orthophotos, it requires OpenSceneryX plus 3D People, Handy Objects, JB, FF Extended, World Model, and RD libraries.

Expert Overview
This custom AD3 Boston Bar Scenery for X-Plane 11/10 recreates a small, disused emergency strip in British Columbia’s Fraser Valley. Positioned near the Blue Lake Resort, it’s perfect for sim pilots looking for a remote place to set down in an otherwise challenging canyon environment. Compatible with Ortho4XP mesh and orthophotos, it preserves the area’s rugged nature through its Runway Follows Terrain feature, ensuring a more authentic look despite uneven ground contours around the runway.
Optimized for performance, this scenery incorporates objects from the 3D People Library, The Handy Object Library, JB Library, FF Library (extended version), World Model Library, OpenSceneryX, and the RD Library to add detail and realism. Having tested this mod extensively, it provides a welcome extra layer of immersion for bush flyers and enthusiasts seeking a distinctive challenge, while still remaining gentle on system resources.
Fraser Valley A, British Columbia, Canada. A small 'abandoned' emergency strip near the Blue Lake Resort in the Fraser Valley near Boston Bar. Nothing more than a field with some markers, for folks having to land somewhere other than a canyon.
This scenery was designed to work with Ortho4XP mesh and orthophotos (Bing source). However, the mesh still isn't 100%. Keep 'Runway Follows Terrain' feature on! The hills next to the runway will look horrible with a flattened airfield.
Requires the latest versions of the following libraries: 3D People Library (3D_PEOPLE_LIBRARY.ZIP), The Handy Object Library (THE_HANDY_OBJECTS_LIBRARY.ZIP), JB Library (JB_LIBRARY.ZIP), FF Library (extended version) (FF_LIBRARY_EXTENDED_LOD.ZIP), World Model Library (WORLD2XPLANE.ZIP), OpenSceneryX (OPENSCENERYX.ZIP) and the RD_Library (RD_LIBRARY.ZIP).

Nice and tidy airstrip filling the gap between Merritt and Harrison Lake nicely. I have Ortho scenery tiles for this area which I generated myself and I use the latest simHeaven_X_America-7-network overlay. The road alongside the airstrip seems to look and function marginally better I feel. Also, I use Global Forests for trees and vegetation and find that some trees are placed on the road (north and south of the airstrip. Also north of the airstrip trees is inside houses. Suggest some additional Exclusion zones might correct that as there seem to be none surrounding the houses. TinkerNZ.
