This freeware package offers a detailed Airbus A319-115X CJ painted in the Republique Francaise livery, used by the French Air Force for transporting high-level officials and VIPs. Developed by Project Airbus and repainted by Marco Fischbach, this fully integrated package includes a complete virtual cockpit (VC) and brings the authentic feel of a governmental transport aircraft into Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Tested with FSX SP2, this release aims to replicate the real-world operations of the specially configured A319 Corporate Jet (CJ) variant used by French presidential and governmental flights.
A Brief Look at the French VIP Transport
The Airbus A319-115X CJ is tailored for government missions, offering enhanced range and a comfortable interior layout. The real-world French Air Force operates this variant under the Republic’s flag, ensuring secure and efficient flights for state officials. In this simulator rendition, the exterior paintwork displays the understated yet refined markings of the Republique Francaise, reflecting both official status and national pride.
Core Technical Add-On Details
Installation Guidelines
- Extract the ZIP archive into your primary “Flight Simulator X/Aircraft” folder.
- Locate the “Effects” contents and place them in your main “Flight Simulator X/Effects” folder.
This streamlined approach ensures the visual and operational elements integrate correctly within your simulator environment.
Highlighted Functionality
The underlying Project Airbus model features numerous technical enhancements that extend immersion and realism, many of which rely on XML scripting:
- Pressurization Outflow Valve: Manages cabin pressure by regulating outflow on the ground (opens below 30 knots).
- Ground Spoilers: Engage automatically upon landing, improving aerodynamic braking.
- Pack Outlets: Vary opening levels based on temperature, providing more authentic environmental control.
- Idle Reversers: Briefly remain open after reverse is canceled, then fully open at idle reverse thrust.
- Parallel Bogies (for double-bogey models): Simulates realistic gear behavior, though more common on other A319 operators.
- Dynamic Jetwash: Displays visible engine exhaust when engines are active.
- Dropping Control Surfaces: Elevators and ailerons sag when the motors are powered down.
In addition, several key features accommodate more advanced procedures and visual fidelity:
- Opening passenger and cargo doors.
- Custom lighting effects, including double strobes and refined touchdown visuals.
- Dynamic surface shine for realistic reflections.
- Wing views offering vantage points from various cabin locations.
- Accurate gear retraction and extension sequence.
Operating the Doors
- L1
- Use Shift + E to access the primary exit.
- L2 + Cargo Doors
- Requires the tail hook command (assign a key binding if not set by default).
- R1 + R2
- Employ the wing fold/unfold command (also requires a manual key binding in the simulator).
