Enhance your virtual flying sessions with a meticulously crafted Airbus A319 wearing Swiss International Air Lines markings. This freeware package features the full Project Airbus A319 base model, combined with a repaint by Marco Fischbach, all tailored for Microsoft Flight Simulator X (tested with Service Pack 2). Its real-world counterpart typically services short to medium-haul routes across Europe under Swiss International Air Lines, a carrier recognized for precision and comfort.

Visual Preview and Exterior Details

Observe Swiss International's signature livery as it adorns the Airbus A319.

This repaint incorporates nuanced texturing that captures the airline’s distinct branding. Swiss International Air Lines, part of the Lufthansa Group, employs the A319 for efficient regional segments, highlighting the aircraft’s robustness and operational versatility.

Project Airbus Background

This model is built upon the renowned Project Airbus platform, reflecting rigorous attention to detail and numerous XML-driven functionalities. The development team has focused on replicating intricate systems behavior to enhance immersion. Designed originally for short and medium-range missions, the A319 is capable of seating over 120 passengers in a standard configuration. The Project Airbus release preserves these characteristics while offering realism within your virtual cockpit.

Primary Technical Attributes

  • Pressurization outflow valve: Dynamically adapts to maintain comfortable cabin pressure, automatically adjusting on the ground below 30 knots.
  • Ground spoilers: Engage to reduce lift on touchdown, granting more precise handling during rollout.
  • Pack outlets: Vary their opening depending on current temperature to regulate cooling or heating.
  • Idle reversers logic: Remain partially open for a short interval after deactivation, with full extension when only idle reverse thrust is commanded.
  • Parallel bogies (double-bogey variant): Present in certain operator models; reflects real-world gear configuration details.
  • Dynamic jetwash effects: Clearly visible behind active engines, enhancing operational realism.
  • Dropping surfaces: Both elevator and aileron surfaces rest downward after power shut-off, mirroring authentic hydraulic bleed-off.

Additional Model Highlights

  • Opening passenger entries and cargo compartments – Expand immersion by handling doors independently.
  • Custom lighting suite – Includes specialized double strobes, beacon effects, and touchdown visuals.
  • Refined exterior reflectivity – Enjoy dynamic shine and realistic fuselage reflections.
  • Accurate animations – Wing flex and gear movement follow documented Airbus procedures.
  • Optimal wingviews – Observe your surroundings from passenger vantage points.

Installation Method

Unzip the contents directly into your Flight Simulator X/SimObjects/Airplanes folder. Relocate all items from the enclosed Effects directory into your simulator’s main Effects folder. Ensure files are not overwritten inadvertently, and confirm that all textures load properly.

Door and Surface Activations

L1 Entry
Access via Shift + E.
L2 and Cargo Compartments
Managed by tail hook commands, though a dedicated key assignment may be necessary.
R1 and R2 Exits
Triggered through wing fold/unfold inputs, also requiring user-defined controls.
