This freeware repaint brings the Hungarian Air Force “135” markings known as “Cápali” onto the payware LotusSim Aero Vodochody L-39 Albatros, introducing custom landing gear textures and distinct cockpit external details. Created by Tibor Kokai, it pays homage to the real-world L-39 that has served as a reliable jet trainer in many air arms around the globe, including Hungary’s own military aviation. This add-on requires the original payware LotusSim model by LotusSim (Mike), which is not included here.
Highlighting the Cápali Scheme
The Aero Vodochody L-39, often celebrated for its tandem-seat layout and agile handling, receives a unique Hungarian Air Force scheme with this package. It channels the “Cápali” motifs seen on the actual “135” aircraft in service. The textures capture the characteristic camouflage pattern, complemented by refined accents on the gear assembly and a fresh set of cockpit exterior lines. Pilots will immediately notice the subtle color contrast and historically inspired insignia upon loading the aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator X.
Included Customizations
- Special Gear Artwork: Enhanced gear bay visuals to mirror the genuine Hungarian Air Force aesthetic.
- Reworked Cockpit Exterior Layers: Subtle edits to external fuselage lines around the pilot and instructor sections.
Note: Redistribution, modification, or repackaging of these files is not permitted without Tibor Kokai’s authorization.
Configuring the Aircraft
After extracting the Cápali repaint folder into your “SimObjects/Airplanes” directory, locate the aircraft.cfg file under both Lotus L-39 and Lotus L-39-multi subfolders. Use a basic text editor (such as Notepad) and append the following entries. Replace “x+1” with the subsequent sequential number where necessary.
