FSX Northern Namibian Airfields Scenery Fixed

Northern Namibian Airfields scenery brings four historic South African Air Force Border War-era bases to life in FSX using default objects paired with corrected AFCADs for accurate layouts and smoother AI and ATC behavior. Covers Grootfontein, Ondangwa, Rundu, and Katima Mulilo, and requires SP2 or Acceleration for best results.

Northern Namibian Airfields Fixed. These are airports in the northern part of Namibia that were used by the South African Air Force in the Border War of the 70's and 80's with Angola. They are made from default FSX objects with correct AFCAD files. Best with SP2 or Accelleration installed. They include Grootfontein, Ondangwa, Rundu and Katima Molilu. By Jacques Botha.

Instructions :

1.Unzip "Grensbasis.zip" to a temp folder.

2.Copy the "SAAF bases Namibia" folder to your "FSX/scenery" folder.

3.Copy the "AFX_FYGF_ALT.bgl + AFX_FYOA_ALT.bgl + AFX_FYRU_ALT.bgl and AFX_FYKM_ALT.bgl" file to your "FSX/scenery/world/scenery" folder.

4.Run FSX.

5.On the main page go to "settings".

6.Now click on "scenery library".

7.Now click on "Add area" and search for the scenery folder.

8.Double click on the scenery folder and look for the"SAAF bases Namibia" folder.

9.NB !!!!!! click on this folder only once ! and then click on "OK".

10.The scenery will now load !

11.Go to free flight and choose your airport to start your flight !

Windows 7 users follow the following instructions:

1.Unzip "Grensbasis.zip" to a temp folder.

2.Copy the "SAAF bases Namibia" folder to your "FSX/scenery" folder.

3.Copy the "AFX_FYGF_ALT.bgl + AFX_FYOA_ALT.bgl + AFX_FYRU_ALT.bgl and AFX_FYKM_ALT.bgl" file to your "FSX/scenery/world/scenery" folder.

4.Run FSX.

5.On the main page go to "settings".

6.Now click on "scenery library".

7.Now click on "Add area" and search for the scenery folder.

8.Double click on the scenery folder and look for the"SAAF bases Namibia" folder.

9.Double click on this folder and then you shall see a texture and a scenery folder.Click on the white area outside the two folders.

10.The scenery will now load !

11.Go to free flight and choose your airport to start your flight !

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
