Northern England power station cooling towers bring Drax, Ferrybridge, Eggborough, and Runcorn to life as prominent visual landmarks for VFR navigation across the UK in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The package places detailed tower models with steam effects for a more atmospheric low-level flight experience, while keeping scenery lightweight and focused.

Northern England Power Stations Scenery.

Drax, Ferrybridge, Eggborough and Runcorn (4 of the towers are already located at Runcorn in my `A Day on the Farm scenery, there is a seperate file, (Runcorn Power.bgl) if you have `ADOTF already installed)). I have only placed the cooling towers no buildings. Feel free to adapt the fx file if you wish to use it. If there are any cooling towers placing for you drop me an e-mail with the fs co-ordinates and I'll be pleased to oblige.

These files may or may not work in FS2004, I haven't tried them.

Installation:

Simply place all the bgl's into an active scenery directory (One that is ticked in your scenery library). Place the fx file into C:\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Effects.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

Finding the scenery

Use these coordinates to fly directly to this location once the mod is installed.
