The Waco SRE dates from 1940 and was the last of the Waco cabin biplanes. It was luxurious for its time and was known as the Aristocrat. This is a native FSX Acceleration model based on the paint scheme of a SRE owned by a personal friend. It has the usual animations, .dds textures, reflective glass and a specular shine. The VC features working gauges and animated flight controls. There is a minimal 2D panel. By Paul Clawson.

The SRE was the last of the Waco cabin biplanes, it started production in 1940. In my view it ranked right up there with the Beech Staggerwing in beauty was performed just as well. I have a personal attachment to the SRE. About 30 years ago I was employeed at Hughes Aircrart Co. and had a friend there who owned a SRE. It was unique in that it had a 330 hp Jacobs engine rather than the more powerful P&W favored by most. It would only cruise at 145 rather than 165, but used half the fuel. I spent many enjoyable hours in the right hand seat of this beauty. I have attempted to match its paint job as best as possible from memory.

INSTALLATION: Unzip WacoEvX into a temporary folder. Copy the folder Waco Aristocrat into the airplanes folder of FSX. That's all there is to it.

Enjoy! Paul Clawson

Excellent plane. When I first loaded it there were no main instruments. Eventually, I figured out this is because it uses the DHC-2 Beaver instruments and the CAB file for those was installed in my FSX DHC-2 Beaver folder, not the main Gauges folder.

Copy your Beaver gauge CAB file to your shared Gauges file if this happens to you.
