This repaint features Braniff Airways’ historic Douglas DC-2 registration NC13716 in a highly detailed livery. Braniff Airways, originally founded in the late 1920s, operated various early passenger aircraft supporting commercial aviation’s expansion across the United States. This package places Braniff’s distinctive markings on the Douglas DC-2, a twin-engine transport recognized for its influential yet sometimes overshadowed role in 1930s air travel. Created by Tim Scharnhop for the “Uiver Team X” payware DC-2, it brings another classic airline option to Microsoft Flight Simulator X, all while preserving a piece of aviation heritage. Proceeds from the DC-2 package itself support the Aviodrome, the Dutch National Aviation Theme Park and Museum, making this project a remarkable effort by the developers.
Braniff Airways Repaint Objectives
This repaint is specifically designed for the “Uiver Team X” DC-2—an advanced payware model renowned for its authentic exterior and interior. Tim Scharnhop’s contribution here thoughtfully integrates Braniff’s classic color scheme, emphasizing rivet and panel lines for a compelling rendition. By installing this repaint, enthusiasts can experience the look and feel that once shaped Braniff’s early passenger aviation network.

Prerequisites and Payware Model
This repaint does not include the payware DC-2 model. You will require the original Uiver Team X DC-2 add-on, which is available for purchase (from sources such as SimShack). This base package incorporates detailed cockpit modeling, authentic flight dynamics, and carefully calibrated animations. By purchasing it, you also support the Aviodrome’s preservation efforts and help fund various aviation exhibits.
