Commercial A330 packages also exist, but platform availability and genuine MSFS 2024 compatibility vary by product.

Which A330 should you choose?
Choose the included iniBuilds A330 unless you specifically need an A330-900neo, a different systems implementation or a livery unavailable for the stock aircraft. It receives simulator-side integration and avoids most dependency problems.
Choose Headwind when the A330-900neo is the goal and you fly on PC. It is the main freeware neo option, but its installation method and dependencies can differ between package generations. Our comparison of Headwind A330-900neo freeware and related packages covers those distinctions.
Consider commercial aircraft carefully. Payware is not automatically more complete than the A330 included with MSFS 2024. Check whether the product has custom avionics and flight-management logic, which engine and airframe variant it represents, how it is updated, and whether its listing explicitly supports MSFS 2024 on your platform.
Does the Headwind A330-900neo work in MSFS 2024?
A 2024-compatible Headwind release can be used in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PC, but an old MSFS 2020 package should not be copied across without checking its release notes and dependencies.
Headwind packages have used systems derived from other Airbus community projects, and requirements have changed over time. Livery packs are not complete aircraft. A Headwind livery normally requires the matching Headwind base model; a livery made for the included iniBuilds A330 will not become compatible merely because both aircraft are A330s.
Will an MSFS 2020 A330 add-on work in MSFS 2024?
Some MSFS 2020 A330 packages work through backward compatibility, but compatibility is package-specific rather than guaranteed. An aircraft loading into the selection screen does not prove that its displays, flight controls, sounds and flight planning work correctly.
- Look for an explicit MSFS 2024 compatibility statement from the package publisher.
- Keep the MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024
Communityfolders separate. - Remove old cockpit, avionics and flight-model modifications before testing the aircraft.
- Update the base aircraft before installing liveries or enhancement packs for it.
- Do not copy encrypted Marketplace or Official packages manually between simulators.
A common mistake we see is treating “native MSFS aircraft” as meaning “native MSFS 2024 aircraft”. It may only mean that the model was built for the MSFS platform rather than converted from an older simulator.
Can Xbox and PS5 install freeware A330 add-ons?
Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 cannot install PC Community-folder aircraft from our downloads library. Console pilots are limited to the included A330 content and products offered through the in-simulator Marketplace for their console.
Marketplace catalogues and licences can differ by platform, so do not assume that a PC or Xbox purchase transfers to PlayStation. Check the product’s platform and MSFS 2024 labels before buying it.
How do you install a freeware A330 on PC?
A freeware A330 normally belongs in the MSFS 2024 Community folder, with every required base aircraft or library installed separately.
- Confirm the simulator version. Use the package release intended or explicitly approved for MSFS 2024.
- Read the dependency list. Install the required base aircraft and systems packages before optional liveries.
- Extract the archive fully. The package folder containing files such as
manifest.jsonmust not be buried inside unnecessary wrapper folders. - Remove competing copies. Two releases using the same internal package name can produce a missing aircraft, blank cockpit or duplicated entry.
- Test the base aircraft first. Add liveries and enhancement mods one at a time after confirming that the clean aircraft loads and flies.
If the A330 stops loading, temporarily move unrelated packages out of Community and retest. Also confirm that the correct livery version is installed; outdated liveries can conflict after an aircraft update.
