This repaint brings the Argentinian Navy’s SNJ-5 (a variant of the renowned North American T-6 Texan) into Microsoft Flight Simulator X, showcasing distinctive naval markings and authentic Argentinian color details. Developed by Henry William and building on base textures from Mr. Frank Safranek, this add-on requires the payware AlphaSim T-6 Texan/Harvard model (not included). It skillfully replicates a naval training aircraft once used by the Argentine maritime service, blending accurately placed insignia from Damian Radice with historically correct stencils and shades.
Historic T-6 Maritime Theme
The North American T-6 series, also called the Harvard in some air forces, has served countless air arms worldwide for advanced pilot instruction. Under the SNJ-5 designation, the U.S. Navy used this single-engine trainer for rigorous skill building in aerobatics, navigation, and gunnery. In Argentine service, these aircraft contributed to fundamental pilot development, ensuring that naval aviators mastered stall characteristics and crosswind handling.
Detailed Paint Layers
This release focuses on precise markings: the Argentinian Navy emblems, serial numbering, and color scheme all reflect period-correct details seen on late-model SNJ-5 trainers. Henry William applied advanced layering techniques to replicate realistic surface weathering, while the crisp stencils and logos are courtesy of Damian Radice. This repaint also integrates well with AlphaSim’s T-6 cockpit, preserving instrument labeling clarity and cabin texturing that suits military trainer operations.
Advanced Repaint & Credit
Special acknowledgment goes to Mr. Frank Safranek for providing the foundation textures that streamline the painting workflow. This collaboration ensures seamless color boundaries and uniform rivet lines for an authentic look. Extra thanks to the model’s creators at AlphaSim, who engineered the external geometry that forms the canvas for this Argentinian Navy trainer variation.

description=AlphaSim 2007\n\nThe North American T-6 Texan was an excellent design that served as a basic transitional combat trainer in all branches of U.S. service as well as in countries worldwide. U.S. Navy pilots utilised the type under the SNJ designation, the most common versions being the SNJ-4, SNJ-5 and SNJ-6. The RAF was very taken with the design and adopted it as the Harvard. Later versions were manufactured in Canada and the type saw service in countries worldwide. An excellent all-round trainer, the type was quite good at teaching new pilots to avoid the accelerated stall, as a wing would snap round quite unexpectedly if the pilot was unwary. Approximately 17,000 of the type were built and some 350 are still airworthy.
