Use the product-specific Windows package for the exact panel model. Prefer software whose compatibility information identifies Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Older MSFS plug-ins can sometimes communicate through SimConnect, but compatibility with every display, command and aircraft is not guaranteed.

How do I install the Flight Panels in MSFS 2024?

  1. Disconnect the panels and close MSFS. This prevents Windows from loading a partial driver while the panel software is being installed.
  2. Remove conflicting legacy packages if necessary. If both old Saitek software and a newer Logitech package are trying to control the same panel, uninstall the duplicate package and restart Windows. Do not remove a working installation merely because it carries the older Saitek name.
  3. Install the exact panel driver. Switch, Multi, Radio and Instrument Panels can require different components. Also install the Microsoft Flight Simulator plug-in or a panel utility explicitly compatible with MSFS 2024.
  4. Connect one panel directly to the PC. Wait for Windows to finish detecting it before adding the next one. During diagnosis, avoid an unpowered hub or the pass-through hub built into another controller.
  5. Test the hardware outside the simulator. Confirm that Windows and the manufacturer's test utility can see the panel. If that test fails, the fault is with the USB connection, power or driver rather than MSFS.
  6. Start the panel software and MSFS 2024. Some packages launch automatically; others run as a separate utility. Load a simple default aircraft and switch on its battery, avionics and relevant system masters before judging displays or annunciators.

Why is my Logitech panel missing from the MSFS controls list?

A Switch, Radio or Multi Panel can work without appearing as a normal controller in MSFS 2024. Its plug-in reads the physical controls and sends simulator events through SimConnect, so repeatedly rescanning or manually assigning every switch is usually the wrong fix.

A yoke, throttle quadrant or other conventional USB controller should appear in Controls options. If one of those devices is missing, check Windows device detection, the USB connection and the selected MSFS control profile.

A mistake we see constantly is assigning the same function in both MSFS and the panel utility. This produces double frequency steps, autopilot values that jump by two increments or switches that immediately reverse themselves. Give each function one owner.

For latching switches, use separate ON and OFF events instead of a single TOGGLE event wherever the software permits. Otherwise the physical switch and virtual cockpit can fall out of synchronisation after loading a flight.

What fixes blank displays and disconnected panels?

Default plug-ins work best with aircraft that use standard simulator events and data. Complex add-ons often operate their autopilot, radios and annunciators through custom local variables, H events or proprietary code, so a panel can work perfectly in a default aircraft yet fail in the add-on.

  • Use the basic Logitech plug-in when standard aircraft and standard radio, gear or autopilot functions are all you need.
  • Use an aircraft-specific profile or compatible programmable utility when the add-on relies on custom controls or display values.
  • Run only one control method at a time. Disable the basic plug-in for that panel if another utility has taken over its inputs and outputs.
