How do I set up Saitek/Logitech panels in MSFS 2024?
Set up Saitek/Logitech Radio, Multi, Switch and Instrument Panels in MSFS 2024, with software, USB, binding and blank-display fixes.
On a Windows PC, close Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, install the exact Logitech/Saitek driver and an MSFS 2024-compatible panel plug-in, restart Windows, then connect and test one panel at a time in a powered default aircraft. Configure yokes, throttles and pedals in MSFS, but manage dedicated Pro Flight panels through companion software.
What software do Logitech/Saitek panels need?
Dedicated Pro Flight panels need Windows hardware support and a compatible companion application that exchanges commands and display data with MSFS 2024 through SimConnect. Windows recognising the USB device is not enough, and Logitech G HUB alone does not normally provide this simulator integration.

Older Saitek-branded hardware follows the same process as the equivalent Logitech unit. Use the matching 64-bit Windows package for the exact model, avoid obsolete installation-disc software when a compatible package is available, and prefer software whose documentation explicitly names MSFS 2024.
Legacy FSX or MSFS 2020 software may install or connect through SimConnect, but installer detection, displays, commands and aircraft support are not guaranteed in MSFS 2024. Different panels can also require different packages, even when they belong to the same Pro Flight stack.
Do I need to install SimConnect for MSFS 2024?
No. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 includes SimConnect, so a normal local installation does not need an old standalone FSX runtime. If a panel passes its Windows hardware test but cannot reach the simulator, repair the compatible companion component first; reinstalling a working USB driver will not replace a missing, blocked or outdated plug-in.
How do I install and test the Flight Panels?
Install the software before connecting the hardware unless its installer explicitly says otherwise, then prove the setup with one panel and a default aircraft before assembling a full stack.
- Identify each device. Radio, Multi and Switch Panels require panel-handling software, while the Flight Instrument Panel uses its own display system. Yokes, pedals and throttle quadrants are conventional flight controls and are configured separately.
- Disconnect the panels and close MSFS. Exit any Saitek, Logitech or third-party panel utilities as well. This prevents a partial installation and stops two programmes competing for the same device.
- Remove only conflicting legacy software. Choose one software stack if old Saitek software, a Logitech package and a third-party handler overlap. Do not remove a working package merely because it carries the older Saitek name.
- Install the exact software package. Install the model-specific Windows driver and the MSFS 2024-compatible plug-in or bridge when they are supplied separately. Follow the installer's instruction about when to connect USB.
- Use the correct installation location. Drivers and external handlers do not belong in
Community. Put only a supplied simulator module there, and only when its installer directs you to the active MSFS Packages location. Do not point an old installer at a random Microsoft Store or Steam directory, rename simulator folders or copy driver files intoCommunity. - Restart Windows and connect one panel. Begin with a direct computer USB port rather than a keyboard, monitor, passive hub, overloaded yoke port or controller pass-through. Wait for Windows to finish detecting the device.
- Run the supplied hardware test. Check every available knob, switch, LED and display before opening MSFS. Failure here points to the driver, cable, port or USB power rather than an aircraft profile.
- Start the handler and load a powered default aircraft. Keep the utility and simulator at the same Windows privilege level, normally without administrator mode. A default Cessna 172 is useful for radio and basic autopilot checks; use a default retractable-gear aircraft to test the Switch Panel's gear lever and lights.
- Test one function at a time. Check frequencies, heading, altitude, autopilot modes, lighting and gear using an aircraft equipped with those systems. Make sure the battery, avionics and relevant electrical buses are on.
- Add the remaining hardware. Connect other panels only after the first one works. Use a powered USB hub for a full stack or several Flight Instrument Panels, then create aircraft-specific profiles separately.
If a utility works when opened manually but not when MSFS starts, leave it running while confirming the setup, then repair its automatic-start configuration. Neither application normally needs administrator privileges.
Why is my Logitech panel missing from MSFS Controls Options?
A Switch, Radio, Multi or Instrument Panel can work without appearing as a normal bindable controller because its external handler sends events and display data through SimConnect.
Repeatedly rescanning or assigning every panel switch inside MSFS is therefore usually the wrong fix. Yokes, throttle quadrants and rudder pedals are different: their axes and buttons should appear in Controls Options and require calibration and saved profiles. A mistake we see constantly is assigning the same function in MSFS and the panel utility. Duplicate inputs make frequencies move by two increments, switches reverse immediately or autopilot modes cancel themselves. Give each function one owner and run only one handler for each panel.
For latching switches, use separate ON and OFF events instead of one TOGGLE event wherever the software permits. Set physical battery, alternator and lighting switches to the intended starting positions before loading, as the handler may synchronise them immediately and overwrite a saved cold-and-dark state.
Why is my Logitech panel blank or disconnected?
A panel that fails its Windows hardware test has a USB, power or driver fault; one that passes there but fails in MSFS usually has a plug-in, aircraft-power or profile problem.

Why do panels work in default aircraft but not add-ons?
Complex add-on aircraft often use L-vars, H events or custom system logic instead of the standard simulator events expected by a basic Logitech handler.
- Keep the standard handler for default aircraft and add-ons that expose ordinary radio, switch, gear and autopilot events.
- Create an aircraft-specific profile for each aircraft family or substantially different variant that needs custom events. Map one function at a time, beginning with autopilot master, heading and altitude.
- Map input and display output separately. A button can work while the Multi Panel or Radio Panel still shows an incorrect value.
- Leave one handler active. Disable the basic plug-in if a configurable bridge has taken control of that panel.
- Check physical switches before loading. Their positions may be sent as soon as the profile connects and can override the virtual cockpit.
The Multi Panel is particularly sensitive to custom autopilot implementations. Some differences are legitimate aircraft behaviour rather than faults: a turbine or FADEC aircraft may ignore magneto positions, a custom autopilot may reject generic mode commands, and annunciators or gear LEDs report the simulated aircraft state rather than the physical lever position.

Can Pro Flight panels be used on Xbox or PlayStation?
No. Conventional Saitek and Logitech Pro Flight panels are Windows-PC peripherals because they depend on desktop drivers and external companion applications. Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro cannot run that Windows software, so connecting a Radio, Multi, Switch or Instrument Panel by USB alone does not provide console compatibility.
Console support applies to the exact controller and platform. A console-compatible yoke does not make panels connected through it compatible; use only hardware explicitly approved for that console.
