Vancouver Int'l Airport, British Columbia, Canada, v4. Includes all gates in their real world locations. By Jesse Wheeler.
There is also a Cargo ramp for UPS, FDX, Kelowna Flightcraft, Cargojet, and a Generic Cargo ramp. There is parking available around the terminal in various real locations. Lots of spots over at the Air Canada hangar, Which I originally had designated for ACA and JAZZ, but it seemed as though the ACA A340's liked it better over there than at the terminal, so then they were un-designated spots, which I ave now changed back to smaller ACA parking spots for 737's and smaller.
There are many GA spots too in the south, along with some Amphibian spots. I removed the water runway, AI will not use a water runway. I created a new airfield in the water to see if the planes would use it, and they magically appear and disappear instead. And there are 4 CFC (Canadian Forces) parking spots in the south. Also included is my Vancouver Landclass to make the area around Vancouver appear more realistic, however is not totally complete.
Other Features:
I've moved the north runway farther south, as MS really messed up making the airport, so you'll notice taxi signs and stuff up north that is in the wrong spot.
Aprons have been COMPLETELY redone with the new AFCAD.
Some taxiways have been modified, as again, MS messed up.
Some taxiways have been added (look to the south).
And one of the hardest projects, the airport roads. They are all closed taxiways, and are unconnected to the main airfield in any way, so you will never get a plane taxiing on them. But as airport roads are just as visual as the runway or taxiways, and they add a bit (i think) to the eye candy, I added almost all of them in, using pictures and maps.
You'll notice the big gravel strip beside the south runway. It's the old runways and you can still see a dark gravel looking splotch on the real field.
Taxiways have also been redone as weather they are cement or asphalt.
All in all this looks and feels a lot better than the default airfield, but until I can learn scenery design.
Some Statistics:
- 153 parking spots total, a lot less than I first had, which was close to 200, mostly GA.
- 63 Gates
- 19 Cargo
- 3 Docks
- The rest are various parking (including commercial and GA of all sizes)
