Celebrating the Spirit of Braniff’s Turquoise Era

During the late 1960s, Braniff International introduced an eye-catching range of colors popularly referred to as the “Jellybean” series. One prominent example was the turquoise finish adorning N7075, a Boeing 707-300 variant. This era captured the imagination of travelers with bold aesthetics, symbolizing the forward-thinking design principles of the time. In the simulator, this repaint pays homage to those iconic details, featuring historically accurate markings and a precise representation of the airline’s branding.

Notable Boeing 707 Characteristics

The Boeing 707 is renowned as one of the pioneering commercial jetliners in aviation history. With its swept-wing design and four turbofan engines, it played a pivotal role in transitioning the industry from piston engines to jet propulsion. The 707-300 series, in particular, offered enhanced performance and longer range, delivering reliable service to airlines worldwide. Reflecting these traits, the repaint captures the aircraft’s proportions, windows, and engine cowling details with refined accuracy.

Visual Highlights for Simulator Enthusiasts

This turquoise “Jellybean” repaint blends meticulous artistry with performance-conscious features, ensuring seamless integration into the Captain Sim B707-300 environment. Subtle panel line shading enhances realism, and all airline-specific text elements are placed exactly where they appeared on the real N7075. Users who focus on historical fidelity will appreciate the carefully crafted registration marks and period-appropriate airline typography, which evoke Braniff’s mid-century styling.

Installation Steps for This Repaint

  1. Extract the contents of the downloaded file to a temporary directory of your choice.
  2. Locate the texture.N7075 folder and shift it into your CS_B707-300 folder.
  3. Open the aircraft.cfg file in the CS_B707-300 directory. Add a new [fltsim.X] entry with a sequential number just after your existing repaints. For instance, if the last entry is fltsim.6, the new entry should be fltsim.7. Ensure the title line within the new section matches that same digit.

Once everything is correctly placed, you will have access to the Braniff Turquoise Jellybean Boeing 707 in your simulator’s aircraft selection menu. Please be aware that this download supplies only the texture package. To fly this repaint, you must already own the Captain Sim B707-300 payware product, which can be purchased separately from a recognized store such as SimShack.

All credit goes to Marc Brown for painstakingly crafting this livery, accurately matching the colors and features of Braniff International’s legendary Turquoise Jellybean N7075. For those captivated by historic airline branding or the Boeing 707’s importance in commercial aviation, this add-on adds an extra layer of authenticity to your virtual flying experience.

I have the 707-420 FSX from Alejandro Rojas Lucena but... the textures that they have come out in black do not match, what can be done? Greetings.
