This add-on provides a new livery replicating an RAF Hawk T1A that performed displays in 2004. Created by Gordon Barnes, this repaint is intended for the payware Sky Sim Hawk T1A (front seat variant) in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. It recreates aircraft markings from 19 Squadron, stationed at RAF Valley, used for UK airshow demonstrations during that season. This package does not include the payware model, which is available separately.
A Focus on the 2004 Display Livery
The featured repaint showcases the distinctive scheme worn by the real 19 Squadron Hawk during the 2004 exhibition circuit. This particular jet was chosen to represent the RAF at various air displays throughout the United Kingdom. Operated out of RAF Valley, the Hawk T1A is well-regarded as a single-engine advanced jet trainer, recognized for its agility and training capabilities.
Technical Background
The BAe Hawk T1A stands out for its two-seat configuration; however, this repaint is specifically designed for the front seat version in the Sky Sim model. In actual service, the Hawk T1A has been instrumental in giving Royal Air Force pilots the essential fast-jet handling skills needed before moving on to more advanced operational fighters.
