USMC VMFP-3 RF-4 Phantom. This is Kazunori Ito's RF-4 Phantom II updated for Flight Simulator X. This is an RF-4 Phantom from VMFP-3. This squadron was activated on July 1, 1975 as part of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro. The squadron's mission was to conduct aerial, multi-sensor imagery reconnaissance to include aerial photographic, infrared, and side looking airborne radar reconnaissance in support of Fleet Marine Force operations. This RF Phantom II has new afterburner effect and a new panel textures and updates by Mark Rooks of RDG Aircraft. Package includes history and pictures of squadron aircraft.

To install this aircraft:

As always back up any original files.

1.Unzip downloaded folders to your desktop or temporary directory of your choice.

2.Copy the " RF-4 Phantom VMFP-3.zip " and paste it in the main aircraft folder.

By default the main aircraft folder is located at:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FSX\SIM Objects /Aircraft .

3. Be sure to completely unzip all files the aircraft file when complete will Cotain 6 files the Following 6 files goes in the aircraft folder CFG Airfile Model Sound Panel Textures.

4. Unzip the gauges folder and put the gauges in the FSX gauges folder located at "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FSX\Gauges "

5. Unzip the Effects folder and put the Effects in the FSX Effects folder located at "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FSX\Effects "

Made Simpler:

Make sure all files are unzipped the New Plane folder should contain 6 files unzipped they are CFG Airfile Sound Model Texture Panel the New Plane folder with the 6 files goes in the game aircraft folder found at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes follow the path ie open the c drive then open program files then open Microsoft Games then open Microsoft Flight Simulator X then open SimObjects then open Airplanes folder the New Plane goes in that folder.

As a former member of VMFP-3, I can tell you this is not one of ours. We flew the RF-4B which did not have the strip light for nighttime formation flying. The aircraft you show above is an RF-4C.
