Enhance your virtual hangar with two distinctive repaint variations for the Pilatus PC-6C-H2. This set of free texture upgrades, created by developer Dirk Hueschelrath, is designed for Tim “Piglet” Conrad’s renowned Turbo Porter model. These meticulously crafted liveries are intended for use in Microsoft Flight Simulator X and rely on the corresponding freeware base package, which can be obtained through the Fly Away Simulation library. Each custom skin portrays unique color patterns while preserving the hallmark features of the PC-6C-H2.

Highlights of the Pilatus PC-6C-H2 Airframe

The Pilatus PC-6 is a Swiss-manufactured STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) utility aircraft respected for its rugged build and versatility. Operators worldwide count on this platform for diverse applications, ranging from cargo transport and sightseeing to skydiving operations. In this simulation rendition by Tim Conrad, key aerodynamic details—such as the large wing area and powerful turboprop configuration—are accurately mirrored to emulate its remarkable field performance.

Refined Texture Additions

Dirk Hueschelrath assembled these repaints with the official paint kit provided by the creator. Each texture folder incorporates visual elements tailored to preserve the fidelity of the PC-6C-H2’s fuselage shaping and cockpit detailing. Expect crisp markings, carefully placed registration numbers, and attention to subtle rivet lines. By combining high-resolution graphics with authentic livery references, this pack delivers a polished, photorealistic exterior.

Seamless Integration into the Simulator

Installation proceeds via a straightforward drop-and-edit approach. After you integrate the textures, simply make minor adjustments to the simulator’s aircraft configuration file. This process ensures that you can access the new paint jobs without overwriting or disrupting existing liveries.

Placing the Texture Folders

  • Locate the “PC-6C_H2Turbo Porter” folder in your Microsoft Flight Simulator X installation directory, typically within “SimObjects/Airplanes.”
  • Drag and drop the newly downloaded texture folders—named texture.N14619 and texture.N52919—into the same folder that houses the aircraft’s files.

Editing the Aircraft.cfg

Within the aircraft’s folder, open the aircraft.cfg file using a standard text editor. Append the following entries, ensuring you replace the “XX” in each [fltsim.XX] section with sequential numbers that suit your existing liveries.
