FS2004 China Airlines Boeing 747-400

This is a repaint of AIA 744 PW in the special "Millennium Dragon" livery of China Airlines. Well, to my knowledge this livery was supposed to be painted on a CAL 744 to celebrate the year 2000, the year of the Dragon and a special Dynasty package was prepared too including a 744 model aircraft repainted in this color scheme. I'm not sure if they used that special livery or not (for I could not find any pic of it), but fortunately a friend had its model aircraft and I used it as my repainting model. Oh yes, I know it's neither the millennium, nor the year of the Dragon but I did it for two reasons: first because I was born in the year of the Dragon (7/22/1976 8;) and second because I'm in a Chinese mood (nope, I'm a Persian girl!) wishing to do something related and repainting this could somehow satisfy me (can anybody please translate the Chinese words written next to the name of the airline in that red stamp like thing)!! I hope that you'll like this and use it in your AI traffic 8;D

INSTALLATION: Just drop the "aia_747_400_pw_china_airlines" folder into your FS2k/4k aircraft folder. Then assign the aircraft to some flightplans and you're on your way.

FS2002: By default the fde for this aircraft is for use in fs2004/fs9. If you are using it in FS2002, replace the "aia_747_400_pw.air" & "aircraft.cfg" with the one contained in the "fs2002fde" folder.

NOTES: This aircraft was designed specifically for use as an AI aircraft. As such, the primary design criteria were that it look good sitting at the gate, or as seen when landing from an aircraft waiting to take off.

This plane also uses 16 different LOD (levels of detail) models, which means that as the plane gets visually smaller, the model displayed becomes simpler and simpler, thus reducing the drag on your computer.

If you download a GMAX aircraft that is just gorgeous, but really chews up your frame rates when used as AI if several of them appear on the screen at once, the designer probably did not use the LOD feature, so the model is always 20,000 polygons no matter how far away from you it is.
