This freeware repaint provides updated Saeta Air Ecuador textures for the classic Vickers Viscount 700 series in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. Overall, the scheme pays homage to the airline’s historic operation across Ecuador’s challenging mountain routes. Created by Alex Colka, this repaint requires the original Rick Piper base model, which can be located in the Fly Away Simulation library. The fuselage, tail, and minor detailing have been carefully adjusted to replicate HC-AYZ, capturing the distinctive features of the turboprop’s real-world counterpart.

Highly Detailed Liveries for a Legendary Turboprop

The Vickers Viscount was a groundbreaking aircraft, often acknowledged as one of the earliest turboprop-powered airliners to enter commercial service. Its lower cabin noise levels and improved fuel efficiency made it particularly desirable during its era. Meanwhile, Saeta Air Ecuador employed this type on diverse short- and medium-range routes, capitalizing on the reliable performance necessary for flights over the rugged Andes. This repaint preserves the unique color palette and markings of Saeta’s HC-AYZ, a model emblematic of Ecuadorian civil aviation heritage.
