An Israel Aircraft Industries IAI 201 Arava in the colors of Argentinian CATA Linea Aerea. By Victor M. Astiz.
Screenshot of CATA IAI 201 Arava on the ground.
Developed in the late 1960's, the Arava was IAI's first design to enter production. It is a multi purpose aircraft designed for rapid convertibility from passenger to cargo missions, and STOL operations from short or semi-prepared strips and improvised lots. High wing location provides ample ground clearance and contributes to excellent visibility though a large windshield. This particular model was operated by Argentinean CATA Linea Aarea, used mainly for taxi and newspaper transport until it was sold in the late 2000.
This model was designed in GMAX. I have included a simplified but functional 2D panel. However, the real fun stuff is in the VC. Mostly everything in the VC is right where it should be. I have also included some custom animations such as working windshield wipers and a copilot that shows up when you click on his seat (check out the file 'animations.jpg') The exterior model is also very detailed with realistic suspension and reflective textures. This is the first airplane model I ever make for fs. It took me many hours of hard work and a lot of headaches, so I hope you like and enjoy flying it.
