This freeware repaint showcases Monarch Airlines’ Airbus A321 (registration G-OZBL) specifically designed for the default Airbus A321 in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Created by George Hutton, it accurately replicates the airline’s vibrant livery across the fuselage and tail surfaces while retaining detailed operational features for realistic virtual flights. All original flight dynamics remain unchanged, but the exterior visuals receive a refreshed Monarch-inspired finish.
Visual Enhancements and Technical Notes
This repaint mirrors the Monarch Airlines color scheme, providing crisp markings and carefully aligned logos that echo the carrier’s real-world operations. Monarch operated various Airbus A321s on both scheduled and charter services, leveraging the aircraft’s powerful engines, modern fly-by-wire controls, and efficient wing designs for short- to medium-haul routes. This repaint respects those operational details while blending seamlessly with the default virtual cockpit and cabin layouts.

Important Considerations
- This package only contains external textures and does not include the base model.
- The original default Airbus A321 files from Microsoft Flight Simulator X are required, or you can download the freeware base model from the Fly Away Simulation mod library.
- Monarch Airlines’ livery highlights the aircraft’s sleek lines, slightly extended fuselage, and characteristic nose shape, as seen in the real A321 fleet.
Installation Instructions
- Extract all files to a temporary directory on your system.
- Move the newly created Texture.mon folder into your Airbus A321 directory within the simulator’s aircraft folder.
- Open the existing aircraft.cfg associated with the Airbus A321. Paste the entry below, replacing "X" with the subsequent fltsim number:

description="The Airbus A321 is a stretched version of Airbus' best-selling short- and medium-range A320. The A321 has a slightly increased wing area, stronger landing gear with larger tires, and engines with increased thrust. When the A321 entered service in 1988, it pioneered the use of 'glass cockpit' instrumentation, the first digital fly-by-wire control system used in an airliner, and sidestick controllers."
Remember to adjust “X” to avoid any conflicts with existing [fltsim.x]
entries. If only the default textures are installed, commonly you would set X=4
. After saving, load Microsoft Flight Simulator X to confirm the new Monarch Airlines aircraft option has appeared in your A321 liveries.
Aircraft Background Highlights
Designed as a longer variant of the A320 family, the Airbus A321 incorporates a stretched fuselage, upgraded landing gear, and enhanced aerodynamics. Monarch Airlines historically utilized these jets for routes connecting UK airports to popular holiday destinations. This repaint, contributed by George Hutton, delivers an immersive recreation of those operations, letting enthusiasts experience the carrier’s iconic brand within the simulator.
