Incheon International Airport opened in March 2001 as the new international gateway for Seoul, replacing Gimpo Airport which continues to handle domestic and Tokyo-Haneda flights. It is the international hub for South Korea's two flag carriers, Asiana and Korean Air. Unfortunately, this is one of the more neglected airports in the FS world.

Although this file is not 100% realistic, it is reasonably realistic based on FS limitations, my observations at Incheon, and others' Incheon photographs.

Due to the terminal being unrealistically small, some planes will park in the middle of the apron; they are, however, in roughly accurate real-life positions.

Gates are numbered 1-50 from east to west, and gates 4, 5, and 13 do not exist, as in real life. Also missing is Gate 29, which is a bus stop for remote stands.

Runway 15R/33L will be used for takeoffs, and 15L/33R for landings.

Gates 1-3 handle domestic flights; in this file they are small gates for Asiana and Korean Air.

International gates are not assigned to any particular airline in real life, but there are general tendencies, and they are implemented as follows:

  • Gates 6-18 and east stands handle Asiana (12-18 shared with Korean Air)
  • Gates 19-28 and north stands handle Korean Air (19-22 shared with Asiana)
  • Gates 30-50 handle foreign airlines; the gates are unassigned so all airlines can use them, even if you choose to fill Incheon with airlines that don't serve there in real life.
  • Foreign airlines exceptions:
  • KLM and Turkish will use Gate 6. Asiana handles their check-in anyway, and KLM is known to use Gate 6 frequently.
  • Cathay Pacific will sometimes use Gate 12.

Cargo ramps east of the runways are as follows: 4 Korean Air, 3 Asiana, and 3 all others.

At the far north end are maintenance facilities. Asiana and Korean Air will each park 3 planes there as a last resort.

You will need Lee Swordy's AFCAD2 program available at major Flight Sim sites. Feel free to modify for your own use only.
