MSFS Asobo Aviat Husky A-1C EXTREME Experimental Performance Mod

Asobo’s Aviat Husky A-1C gets an extreme experimental performance overhaul, delivering sharper handling, boosted engine output, and expanded flap behavior that turns bush strips into playgrounds, especially on big wheels and floats. Built for Microsoft Flight Simulator, it also includes a full bonus livery and requires the Marketplace Husky.

Expert Overview

The Extreme Experimental Performance Mod for the Asobo Aviat Husky A-1C significantly upgrades flight characteristics, transforming this already capable bush plane into a high-powered machine. It ramps up horsepower, introduces larger flaps for ultra-slow approaches, and enhances the handling so that short takeoffs and landings become a breeze. Every variant, including the Tundra and float models, is affected, making the mod a true game-changer for pilots who crave a thrilling, more intense flying experience in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Aside from the substantial flight model changes, the package also includes a unique livery that sets your Husky apart visually. In my own tests, takeoffs felt punchy, and control inputs were impressively crisp. While these modifications push the boundaries of the real-world aircraft, they create an exhilarating virtual flight environment that should delight any Bush flying enthusiast. The end result is a radically altered Husky that is both fun and challenging, offering a fresh perspective for dedicated sim pilots.

This is a complete (and experimental) performance mod for the Asobo Aviat Husky A-1C aircraft available for Microsoft Flight Simulator.  This mod drastically changes the flight characteristics of the aircraft and makes it something insane to fly.

Asobo Husky in flight in MSFS after installing this mod. This is an Extreme Experimental Performance MOD for ASOBO'S AVIATE HUSKY A1C Big Wheel & Float Variants.

The developer has modified the aircraft configuration and flight characteristics of the default Asobo Aviat Husky A-1 bringing in some serious performance enhancements that make it an absolute beast to fly - and something you would not be able to achieve - or possible in the real world.

Also included in this pack is a bonus complete livery for the aircraft.

The developer has gone to great lengths in order to provide a functional mod as the Husky files are hashed and essentially uneditable by third parties.

Developer's Description

This is a total EXPERIMENT, and WILL AFFECT ALL VARIANTS of ASOBO'S HUSKY-A1C!

If you want purity, then I wouldn't read any further, and just save yourself the grief and simply don't install it!

As such you should know right up front, that the important CFG files started out as Carbon Prop's XCUB Performance Pack. I am very appreciative that he gave me permission to redistribute them, in their present modified state. I have also borrowed data from several of Got Gravels Mods, and he has also been kind enough to allow their use, so please do not redistribute any of these files without our expressed consent.

You may or may not know that ASOBO's Husky A-1C files are locked out so you can not simply bring them into the SDK and modify them within MSFS Environment, so this has been a quite tedious process of going in and out of MSFS to test the slightest change. The modified Engine File works on all Variants

The flightmodel.cfg will ONLY WORK on the Big Wheels (Tundra) & Float variants! It may function on the small wheels as well, but you would have to adjust the first three contact points down from what they presently are. I've also set the max RPM up a bit to disable "Bitch'N BOB. If you like to turn on all the crash and engine damage stuff, this ain't the model to do it with.

Also, you will need to go into the weight and balance control section, in MSFS 2020 and adjust the top slider on the far right panel to approx 20% MAC, to get you CG Centered, depending on the Fuel/Pax/Cargo loads you set!

I watched a video of a prototype Husky with dual-split Fowler flaps and a "Beafed Up" 200 HP engine (This one has a 210!), landing and taking off from a gravel bar that didn't seem big enough to even walk on! While it would be impossible to do the 3D Modeling, I've tried to replicate that performance. It has a 3rd Flap and I've tried to duplicate the performance of the large flaps. You can get it down pretty slow with a decent angle of attack AoA, at full flaps, and using the throttle to keep your altitude. The best I've got was hanging the tail wheel only for a short distance at about 38 knots... LOL! I have toned down some of the Performance Specifications in the Float Variant, and you will need to LILL THE ENGINE when approaching a Dock or Pear, as it will not stop on its own!

Anyway, I call this a "Tweakers Special" If you want to play with the numbers and come up with something better, let me know and I'll implement it!

Almost forgot, she's now got some pretty responsive ailerons, so be forewarned!

If you are using this you should know how to install the two files by now. Please note that when you activate the Mod ALL of the Variants including the Default Aircraft will be affected.

I have also included a complete Livery, just in case you don't already have any of my Husky Livery Repaints.

Enjoy!

How to install this mod

MSFS add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Locate your MSFS Community folder

All MSFS add-ons live in the Community folder. Microsoft Store / Game Pass version: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\. Steam version: %APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community\. Tip: enable Developer Mode in MSFS to see your exact Community folder path.
  3. Copy the package into Community

Drag the extracted folder into your Community folder. Most MSFS add-ons follow this pattern.
  4. Restart MSFS

Close MSFS completely and relaunch. The new content appears in the Content Manager, on the World Map, or in the aircraft/livery selector.
  5. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
