Enhance your experience in Microsoft Flight Simulator X with this specialized Al Jaber Aviation Airbus A318-112CJ Elite package. Featuring a complete freeware base model from Project Airbus, this release by Marco Fischbach brings a distinctive paint scheme inspired by the exclusive business jet operator headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Al Jaber Aviation, renowned for its premium corporate charters and VIP services, ordered four of these elegant Airbus A318 variants to accommodate their expanding fleet. This particular repaint showcases the airline’s refined design, and it is thoroughly tested in environments that include SP2.
Highlighted Visuals and Livery Details
This short-fuselage A318, part of the A320 family, is equipped for corporate missions and offers both comfort and efficient performance on relatively short routes. In this repaint, the vivid metallic and minimalist accents reflect the operator’s luxurious branding, ensuring a visually striking presence on any apron or airborne route in the simulator. Texture quality has been optimized to capture all the unique details of this business aircraft.
Setup Instructions
1. Extract the ZIP file content into your Flight Simulator X/SimObjects/Airplanes folder.
2. Move the files from the “Effects” folder into your main Flight Simulator X/Effects directory.
3. Launch your simulator and locate the Al Jaber Aviation A318-112CJ Elite in the aircraft selection menu.
Aircraft Features and Technical Highlights
The underlying Project Airbus A319 (adapted for the A318 variant) incorporates advanced XML-driven elements, giving sim pilots the following:
- Pressurization Outflow Valve: Regulates cabin pressure and automatically opens on the ground below 30 knots.
- Ground Spoilers: Engage to enhance stability while taxiing after touchdown.
- Pack Outlets: Adjust based on external and internal temperature to maintain a balanced interior climate.
- Idle Reversers: Briefly remain open before closing after disarm, offering added realism for engine thrust reverser animations.
- Parallel Bogies (where applicable): Modeled in specific double-bogey configurations for authentic landing gear behavior.
- Dynamic Jetwash: Visually depicts engine streams when powerplants are running.
- Drooping Control Surfaces: Elevators and ailerons naturally settle when the engines shut down.
Other functionalities include:
- Operating passenger and cargo doors for immersive ground handling.
- Custom lighting effects such as double strobes, navigational beacons, and realistic touchdown visuals.
- High-fidelity shine and reflection mapping.
- Wing views enabling passengers’ perspective of flight control surfaces.
- Accurate landing gear deployment and retraction animations.
Door Controls and Assignments
Use the following keyboard commands (or custom assignments) to modify door positions:
- L1
- Shift + E (Opens main exit)
- L2 and Cargo Doors
- Tail Hook (Not assigned to a default key; user must bind if needed)

A Glimpse into the Real Operator
Al Jaber Aviation primarily handles executive air travel across the Middle East and beyond, taking advantage of the A318’s exceptional short-field performance. This version, designated as the Airbus Corporate Jet (CJ) variant, adapts the cabin with upmarket comforts and cutting-edge avionics. The airline’s base in Abu Dhabi leverages the region’s strategic location, offering convenient routes to Europe, Asia, and Africa.
