No—MSFS 2020 has no PS4 version. Learn why discs, PS Store searches and cloud workarounds fail, plus the PC, Xbox and PS5 alternatives.
No. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 was never released for PlayStation 4, so it cannot be installed or played natively on PS4. The native versions run on Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S; PlayStation support began only with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PS5 and PS5 Pro.
Why is Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 not on PS4?
Microsoft and Asobo never produced a PS4 version of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. This is a platform-release limitation, not a setting that can be bypassed or fixed with extra storage.
There is no PS4 disc, PlayStation Store download or PlayStation licence for it. Listings labelled Game of the Year Edition or 40th Anniversary Edition are still editions of MSFS 2020 for its supported platforms; they do not add PS4 compatibility.
Can you stream MSFS 2020 to a PS4?
There is no officially supported cloud or Remote Play method that turns a PS4 into an MSFS 2020 client. PlayStation Remote Play requires the game to be running on compatible PlayStation hardware, while PS4 has no supported Xbox cloud-gaming app.
Buying a Windows or Xbox licence does not provide a PlayStation copy. Streaming the simulator to another supported screen also does not make it a native PS4 game.
Which platform do you need instead?
| What you want to play | Supported choice | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 | Windows PC or Xbox Series X|S | No native PlayStation version |
| Microsoft Flight Simulator on PlayStation | MSFS 2024 on PS5 or PS5 Pro | Not compatible with PS4 |
| Microsoft Flight Simulator on PS4 | None | No edition was released for PS4 |
Does upgrading from PS4 to PS5 solve it?
Upgrading to PS5 provides access to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which launched on PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro on 8 December 2025. Our guide to the Microsoft Flight Simulator versions available on PS5 explains that release and its platform requirements.
It does not make MSFS 2020 compatible with PlayStation. If you specifically want the 2020 simulator rather than MSFS 2024, see why MSFS 2020 does not run on PS5 either; you will need a Windows PC or Xbox Series X|S for a native installation.
