The Rotax-powered JMB VL3 915iS brings a four-blade propeller, retractable landing gear and Working Title G3X avionics with integrated autopilot to Microsoft Flight Simulator. The complete aircraft package includes an animated canopy, interactive circuit breakers, detailed cockpit textures, refined exterior modelling, a tuned flight model, aircraft lighting and liveries with registration markings.
I flew deejing’s JMB VL3 915iS in Microsoft Flight Simulator and found the revised cockpit textures and animated canopy gave the familiar Asobo airframe a welcome touch of character. The package represents the Rotax 915iS configuration with a four-blade propeller, rather than simply offering another paint scheme. I particularly appreciated having the autopilot integrated into the Working Title G3X during my flight.
For me, the useful distinction is that the base aircraft comes included, while the changes extend to the flight model, exterior detailing and interactive circuit breakers. I kept the developer’s performance caveat in mind: this four-blade arrangement is described as slightly slower than the three-blade alternative. Shared engine branding therefore does not imply matching cruise performance across VL3 variants.
Deejing’s freeware JMB VL3 915iS brings a Rotax-powered, four-blade ultralight to the new Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS). This complete aircraft package includes the freeware base model, retractable landing gear, Working Title G3X avionics with autopilot integration, and an animated canopy.
The JMB VL3 combines a single-engine, low-wing layout with retractable undercarriage—an arrangement that keeps the airframe aerodynamically clean once the gear comes up. For this rendition, deejing builds on Asobo’s VL3 and uses many of its existing simulator assets and textures to represent the Rotax 915iS version with a four-blade propeller.
The four-blade configuration runs slightly slower than the three-blade version, according to the developer. That distinction matters when comparing the aircraft with other VL3 915iS configurations; do not expect identical speed performance simply because they share an engine designation.
Aviation and adventure creator Pilot Frank inspired the project through his real-world flying in and around Germany. He also supplied aircraft information to support development. The result gives sim pilots a way to follow the spirit of his touring and wilderness trips, rather than supplying a separate mission or itinerary package.
The supplied release, version 1.0.11 dated July 12, 2024, adds the WT G3X [Working Title’s glass-cockpit avionics] and integrates the autopilot into that system. Earlier updates introduced the autopilot itself, corrected avionics issues, and revised cockpit instruments and textures.
Deejing credits the r9r-dev fs2020-vl3-rotax915 team for the underlying flight model and effects. The initial February 2023 release aligned its flight model with that project, and a December 2023 update revised it again. Asobo supplies the original VL3 foundation, while Pilot Frank contributes real-aircraft reference information.

Best known for the Van's RV-7 and RV-7A, with a rebuilt MSFS 2024 model, G3X/GNS 530 glass cockpit and a TDS GTNXi variant, deejing has also released the Van's RV-4, the B&F FK9 Mark 4 ultralight and a VL3 915iS, along with an RV-7 paintkit for livery creators. Each aircraft is released as freeware and updated regularly with new variants, fixes and liveries. Fly Away Simulation hosts deejing's releases, including the Van's RV-7 for MSFS, in our freeware aircraft library.
