This is the latest v2.1.

Only for FSX. Friends and Friendly simmer, here the version of TreeX. It is a set of vegetable textures photorealistic for FSX.

They are based on true photographs of trees of at least 1024x768 pixels. The trees were rooted with the hand and reprocess chromatically so as to keep a certain temperature of constant color. Separately the snag trees, there are no naked trees (e.g. winter).

You will keep textures of origin for these trees but without canopy*. All textures of these trees are represented without canopy (except for two types of trees: acacias and olive-trees).

*What is the canopy?
It is a horizontal texture making it possible to see the tree with the vertical.

Framerate

These textures are declined in 3 versions

512x512 version called "Hifi":
It is best made possible. They have the double-precision that those of origin. The framerate suffers little from it: the suppression of canopÈe there is for something.

Maximum advised in the fsx.cfg

[TERRAIN]
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=2500

256x256 version called "Quality":
Allows the less powerful configurations to profit from photorealist quality but by accepting a loss from precision. With these textures, the autogen is less heavy than that of origin (once again canopy in less), and certain textures of trees reduced by half compared to those of origin.

128x128 version called "Performance":
To preserve the colors photorealists, but without any detail. Textures take again a "realistic" aspect with the top of 2500 feet.

Installation:

Make initially a safeguard of your files of origin if it is not already done!

Unzip the file compressed in a temporary directory.

Choose a resolution among the 3 directories suggested. Select all textures of this directory and Place them in the file textures:

Scenery -> Global
"overwrite" the original ones.

Change of resolution: Copy simply the contents of one of the other directory of the zip and "overwrite" preceding textures.

Uninstallation: Replace textures of origin in their directory.

Editorial

Having always been a big fan of the spectacle when using a flight simulator as much as anything else, it can be really nice to know that what I am flying in is as close to the real thing as possible; if the world does not feel quite right to me, it can kind of take away from the whole flying experience.

It’s all about being able to get the right atmosphere within your simulator, in my opinion, and this mod can help you do just that! What do you see more than anything when you are flying, outside of the sky? Trees!

This excellent mod revamps the trees within FSX and does a fantastic job in making them really stick out from one another. Rather than just looking like raised foliage or something really basic, you’ll start to see a world around and below you that starts to look far more realistic.

The photo-realistic pictures that are used to help improve the trees and replicate the kind of quality that we regularly see within the aircraft themselves are a massive help for those who need a bit more aid in buying into the atmosphere.

Using 1024x768 resolution pictures at the minimum, you are left with trees that look far better than the generic and muddy equivalents that many people feel actually hinder the vanilla FSX experience. I’d agree with them, as it can take away from the overall style of an area when you are confronted with these mundane green sticks!

Thankfully, this mod helps to turn things around a fair bit and leave us with trees that actually resemble their real-life counterparts. I don’t want to take a swipe at Microsoft as they obviously don’t have the time to make everything as we would have wanted, and don’t expect that, but it’s amazing to see the difference that community-led creations can make to the overall quality of the image.

If you are worried about using this mod on a less powerful machine, you can use various settings that will help you manage the frame-rate that is known as Performance, Quality, and Hi-Fi. These allow you to drop in precision whilst retaining the upped quality across the world. So, if you are using a dated computer that struggles to cope with the upsurge in resources needed to run smoothly – and it will happen – you might want to tone it down via the settings for the modification itself.

However, even on the lowest quality, the difference between the normal game and this FSX Enhanced Trees package is pretty staggering. I love to have the right atmosphere and picture being painted in front of me, so this was the perfect FSX addition; I’d recommend you give it a shot, too!

Hi, can you update KFLL? It has new runways.

Only see the trees if I turn photoreal scenery off. Does this add-on not work with photo real? If it does, please tell me what I'm not doing.

Thanks.

Hi Can you tell me if this will work on to of GenerationX VFR scenery in P3Dv4 or if I use the Estonia migration tool. I have successfully installed GenerationX VFR to P3Dv4 with this tool. Would it work with your scenery.

Many thanks

Stewart

I also tried the 3 different Treex (HI FI, QUALITY, PERFORMANCE) and found no difference in appearance or in frame rate.

Install all textures packs and some jets, and this game will be awesome!

This addon makes it all to be true. The download contains 3 different graphics. medium, high and ultra high resolution to be suitable for each processor. No problem to install, just make sure to create backups for original files.
