This freeware repaint introduces a meticulously crafted General Air (Germany) livery for the SCDS Yak-40 v1.3 classic passenger variant, originally designed by the team at SCDS. Created by developer Maxim Mysin, it aims to replicate the visual nuances of General Air’s color scheme applied to Yakovlev’s three-engine regional aircraft. The base SCDS Yak-40 package (SCDSYK40.ZIP) must be installed to fully enjoy these textures.
Overview
The Yakovlev Yak-40, launched by the Yakovlev Design Bureau, continues to be a recognizable short-haul tri-jet beloved by both real-world operators and virtual flyers. This particular repaint showcases the distinct General Air (Germany) markings, which stand out against the aircraft’s compact fuselage design. This version is strictly tailored for SCDS Yak-40 v1.3 and does not support the Yak-40K v1.2RC release.

Installation Procedure
- Ensure the SCDS Yak-40 v1.3 (SCDSYK40.ZIP) is already present in your FS2004 directory.
- Run the provided self-extracting installer (.exe) file.
- When prompted, point the installer to your main FS2004 folder.
- After completing installation, access the FS aircraft selection menu to find the newly added General Air (Germany) livery.
If you have installed any additional SCDS Yak-40 v1.3 patches and the livery disappears afterward, rerun the installer to restore it. This procedure will reactivate the textures in the simulator’s aircraft selection menu.
Additional Notes
Special thanks go to Zbynek Pavlon for the detailed rivet effects that are now integrated across all SCDS liveries. This extra detailing emphasizes the Yak-40’s airframe features, thereby enhancing visual fidelity. The Yak-40’s classic passenger design also retains the hallmark tri-engine layout and compact silhouette, which translates into a genuine vintage experience within FS2004.
This livery has been provided for enthusiasts seeking authentic General Air (Germany) markings on Yakovlev’s classic three-engine regional jet. The design captures the real-world carrier’s aesthetic and delivers a faithful representation. By combining SCDS’s thorough model with these specialized textures by creator Maxim Mysin, sim pilots can explore routes with an added layer of immersion. Enjoy flying under General Air colors within Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, and consider revisiting this self-installer if patching leads to any missing texture issues.
