This repaint provides a detailed TAME Ecuador livery (registration HC-AZJ) for the Lockheed L-188 Electra in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. It is completely freeware and highlights the striking exterior design once used by TAME (Transportes Aéreos Militares Ecuatorianos). This package only includes textures, so you will need to acquire the freeware base model, which is available in the Fly Away Simulation library.
TAME Ecuador’s Unique Turboprop Background
TAME Ecuador employed the Lockheed L-188 Electra for various passenger routes, capitalizing on its powerful turboprop configuration. The Electra, famous for its four-engine layout, offered robust performance at varying altitudes. Users who appreciate classic airliners will find this repaint especially appealing, as it represents an era where turboprops were high-frequency workhorses in commercial aviation.

Model Origins and Repaint Attribution
The original model was developed by Mike Stone, who ensured the flight dynamics and external geometry closely reflect the real-world Electra. Alex Colka then applied the TAME Ecuador repaint, bringing the airline’s authentic color scheme and registrations into your simulator environment. This package contains only the repaint files; therefore, you must install the base model (SL188.ZIP) to enjoy this classic aircraft.
Panel and Gauge Compatibility
This aircraft is designed for FS2004. It may still function in FS2002, but due to compatibility changes, some gauges—like the GPS instrument—will no longer operate in older platforms. There is no direct support for FS2002, and issues related to gauge functionality will remain unresolved if they occur.
Texture Details and Repainting Resources
This download includes a specialized base textures folder that provides unpainted files if you wish to create additional liveries. The external artwork is mapped precisely to capture every curve of the fuselage and engine nacelles, staying true to the Lockheed L-188’s design. Enthusiasts who prefer to personalize their TAME Electra further can start with these blank textures and tailor them to their liking.
