Editorial
Having grown a little tired of the old default FSX Boeing 747-400, I decided to grab this texture package and try it out. Air France is an airline that has been very good to me, and I wanted to take a few Boeing sponsored flight out to France once again. With this Air France livery, then, I felt like I was making the right call in terms of being able to enjoy a more enjoyable flight experience.
Simple and Sweet
While this is just the textures and nothing more, it’s done a great job of capturing the equality of the textures.
Crisp and smooth, these offer an easy way to get into the skies with Air France. Sure, they could perhaps have been a bit more high-end in terms of sharpness, but for a simple livery update of the detail 747-400, it’s a pretty nice touch to be able to turn to.
One criticism that I do have for it, though, is the mistakes with the elevator colouring. While it’s obviously a small issue, it’s something that does help to shatter the illusion, so to speak. Whatever you decide to do, though, you will find that this offers a nice little addition. Aside from a few glitches and omissions, for example a door appears at the back of the upper deck that was clearly supposed to be removed, this does a great job.
Fine for a freebie, this offers an easy way to add a bit more detail to the original 747-400 and see where you stand with it. I’m pretty impressed with the overall quality of the textures, given that these were released some time ago and we’ve naturally seen much more refined imagery in the years to come.
For something that is quick to install and does exactly what it says on the tin, though, this is perfect!
